I contacted my personal energy supplier Eon Next to request a quote for gas/electric for my 2nd home. Unfortunately I was told they were not accepting any new business , where does that leave me ?
Previously, this property was with Eon together with our two commercial properties whilst empty?

I’m confused by the title of your post?
Presumably it leaves you with the supplier already providing the energy - if that was already Eon why are you contacting them for a quote? If the person living there has left then you are on a deemed contract with the existing supplier. There are only limited options out there at the moment for changing to another supplier - primarily on fixed contracts. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
Our son used Ovo energy but on contacting them they inform me they are not able to quote at the moment, so I contacted Eon next as they supply our energy at home.My late aunt resided at this family home previously and was contracted with Eon for many years, before our son moved in and changed the supplier to Ovo.0

If the previous occupant (your son) had an account with Ovo, then all that needs to happen is he provides a meter reading for a final bill and you take over. Ovo will continue to supply utilities under a deemed contract. Give them your contact details (if you don't live at the property) and start paying for the usage.
