Claim for company temporarily closing due to illness

We have a client on PAYE for 2 directors and one employee. One of the directors has been taken ill whilst on holiday and is in hospital and his wife (the other director) is staying with him. As they are miles away from their business, they have had to close it for now until he recovers. Obviously, the director who is ill can claim ssp but can they claim anything from the government for having to temporarily close the business and so that the partner and the employee can carry on being paid?

SSP is not paid by the government. It is paid by the employer (themselves).Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.0

Has the business / director (s) not insurance in place to cover such unfortunate events ?Alice Holt Forest situated some 4 miles south of Farnham forms the most northerly gateway to the South Downs National Park.0

Are there any retained funds in the business?
What savings do the couple have?
They can claim for UC on the same basis as anyone else.0 -

The company will have to pay the employee SSP if they qualify for it.
When you say close the company - is this a limited company? You can't just close a company for a short period like this, its a really complicated process.0
