UNIVERSAL CREDIT OVERPAYMET

Hi,
I work and claim universal credit and have done for the last 6 months. I have just had an email to say i need to attend a job centre this friday. i then checked my payments and it has drastically increased. I have told them in my journal that this is wrong as they have not calculated it against my wage. Has anyone else experienced this? I also told them I can not attend the job centre on Friday as I have a job
Thanks

Possibly, because they haven’t taken your earnings into account, they think you are not working enough.
Do note that earnings are only taken into account if you actually receive them during your UC monthly period. Is it possible you didn’t receive any wages during the period.Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.0 -

I have asked who I need to speak to, so I can resolve this.0 -
UC rely on an information feed from HMRC who receive information from your employer.
What date are your UC periods and what date were you paid wages on?
You could try asking UC if they could give you a link so that you could upload a copy of your wageslip.Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.0 -
Give them your earnings on your journal. Tell them the date you were paid, the gross amounts, the amounts of tax and NI deducted and the net (take home) amount. As @calcotti suggested, offer to upload a copy of your payslip if you have it available. Are you able to attend the appointment or are you working at that time? If you can attend, I would go along with your payslip and you can most likely get it sorted then.0

A regular occurrence for some. If they haven’t sent you one then request a ‘Report your earnings from employers’ form to complete. They will recalculate and you pay back any overpayment received.1
