Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Now light and damp underfoot - forecast sun shine, cloudy and showers. We'll see! The air is cold too. We had heavy rain with thunder and lightening yesterday afternoon and the rain just fell down - quite a lot of roads were flooded temporarily but sun came out and the air did warm up - although it still feels cold for the time of year. Forecast is better from today.
DH and DS1 getting ready for work, I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and my porridge whilst on here. DS2 settled and happy.
Dinner last night was LO's - quiche, pork pie, cold chicken, salad, hot new potatoes - cleared several bits that needed using up. Tonight will be something with quorn mince - have some to use up - possibly be made into either shepherds pie or bologonese type meat sauce and serve it with pasta.
Yesterday work wasn't too bad, only half day today at the other office, then days' off until Monday.
Keep safe and well x

Good morning, thanks for starting NMLC, enjoy your days off.1st of June and it's grey and chilly here, wish it would warm up a bit - no wonder my summer clothes last so long, I never get to wear them.We are going to a funeral today, the chairman of our Residents' Association died a couple of weeks ago. There'll be a lot of people there I think, he was well known in the town, and did a lot for the town.We had dgs for the day yesterday, unusually he didn't want to go up to the station to watch trains. Though with the weather being so cold and showery I was quite pleased.Hope you're feeling a bit brighter today TA, and enjoyed your day out yesterday. Fish and chips always appeals to me as well, if you see a nice plateful going to someone, any way we need warming up, it is the British summer after all !Nelski, your penguin walk made me smile, but be careful round the house.Bella you'll be well and truly confused about what time it is when you return from Cuba, all these time differences.Hope everyone has as good a day as they can, take care folks.13

Morning All
Beautiful blue skies this morning, not a cloud in the sky. The forecast is for it to stay dry so the washing can be moved from the pulley to outside. We had some heavy showers yesterday too nmlc.
I booked flights to go to see DS2 in The Netherlands last night, first flight for 2 1/2 years and the first time I will have seen his flat since he had a lot of renovations done. Not going until the beginning of July but I'm quite excited. Also booked myself a caravan in Northumberland for September - £119 for 3 nights which is cheaper than a B&B for one night and will be the perfect base for my wanderings.
Well done on the weight loss Coxy, that's very well done.
Welcome back Gers, hope you had a good time.
Hoping your friend's treatment goes well TA.
Thinking of those who are poorly and having a tough time.
Must plant the sweetcorn in the neighbour's garden this evening, they are bursting out of the pots! Also have some squash and spinnach to go in, hope their dog leaves everything alone!
Take care. XX

Morning
No rain so far this morning sun and blue sky maybe its getting warmer at last.
Well after a good day working on my walking I managed to go flying so had a day feeling sorry for myself and aching. Thankfully no major damage done apart from a broken plate and a few impressive bruises. Back on it today but maybe a bit slower. Typical me I want results after a day so maybe need to rethink that. Wont give up though I will one day do the Happy Feet Dance !!
Managed to clear the fridge out yesterday. My veg drawer was shocking with the customary sloppy cucumber and a few very dead potatoes. Shameful I know.
Switched my meal plan last night as the pack of herrings needed using so transported myself to work conference lunches with a picky tea. Chicken Kiev tonight
Kitchen tidy today. Hoovering needs to be rethought.
Taff Hope the car can be sorted a little quicker than the last one.
Have a great day all

Morning everyone, it's a beautiful bright and sunny morning.Yesterday was a day of travel. Frankfurt airport is about a three hour drive from the family home so my Berlin cousin picked me up from the pension very early for the journey north. My other cousin came with his wife even earlier to say goodbye, he's a man of very few obvious emotions but he seemed sad that I was going. He kept saying 'we'll see you in January'.Frankfurt airport is still a nightmare, it's absolutely huge, vast distances between everything so I just picked up a coffee and sat at the gate. Then we had to board a bus and we're driven for about 15 minutes to the plane. 😂 The flight was flawless and soon passed. I caught the express bus back to Glasgow city centre (free with my old biddy pass) then another (free) ride to collect my car. Next stop was to buy a ready meal 🙁 and then the slog back home.Last night I unpacked, had my macaroni cheese, a glass of wine, went to bed, watched DIY SOS and fell asleep, happy to be home. Oh, before all that I had a little wander round my garden to check on progress. More plants in bloom, clematis at the end and potatoes doing really well. Strawberries are still white but growing. Chives have gone wild.Today I'm off again. Nowhere as interesting as Cuba or The Netherlands, but Darlington. My closest friend's youngest son's band is playing its first gig, and it's a sellout! The gig will be exciting, and noisy. I remember him being born and here he is, a budding star ... perhaps. So, it's a little more packing, no suitcase this time just my small backpack, and then I'm off. It's about a five hour journey with a little stop so my fingers are crossed for no hold up on the A1(M).Nelski - good on you for the walking though falling down doesn't sound too good.TA. - 👏 to your friend for her strength of character.Camelot - so much planting, you're being kept busy again. Now, hugs to everyone. I have read along but now can't remember a flipping thing. 😱 Happy Wednesday to all.11

Morning from Mehefinland
After a hard day yesterday with nephew's funeral it came as a shock to hear of a neighbour's son found dead in bed last Friday. A twin aged 26 . His brother got all the good bits, super fit, intelligent etc ,and poor Billy was the one behind the door when the goodies were dished out. He was a lovely boy and as you might imagine everyone is in deep shock.
On a lighter note there is a charity drive of two shire horses starting from here this morning Charity Drive 2022 | Coldcroft Shires which I hope to get a glimpse of. Stevie 2shoes due at 10 so I bet I miss it !!
Jubilee seems to be a bit of a damp squib around here, suppose the news down the road has put a dampener on things.
Hugs and spoons as always

Morning folks and thanks NMLC. It's a lovely sunny start here but by heck it's chilly. Allegedly it will start warming up tomorrow!
It doesn't feel like the beginning of June. It can only get better! Welcome back GERS.
The garden perennials I ordered came yesterday so they will be to plant when I have finished the weeding at the front. It's a right Westminster job, by the time I get to the end it's all to start again. And no I haven't a very big front garden it just takes me so long when bending is painful. I used to love gardening but now it's an ordeal.
I had my usual lovely meet up with DFF yesterday, despite it being rather busy - blooming school holidays have a lot to answer for! The good news is I didn't succumb to fish and chips - the bad news is I had scampi instead!! My friend just had soup and a roll as she has been told to eat little and often while on the chemo. We had no idea there would be so many restrictions on what she could and couldn't eat.
DD and the 2 youngest have been at the caravan since Friday and have decked the outside up in bunting and red, white and blue ribbons. They are having a little Jubilee party tomorrow on the decking for any of the site "neighbours" that are there. She said as of yesterday there weren't many people around. Maybe this grim weather is putting folk off.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for all our poorlies, poorly loved ones and the MIA. NELS ouch take care. Well done to the weight losers. Sadly I am not one of you. I am still carrying the half a stone I put on over winter. Once the better weather arrives I will make a determined effort to lose it. Take care folks and be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"11 -
Morning all,
Went to FC last night and opted for the 30 min brisk walk there in between the showers. Was same weight as Saturday, which is okay. It started spitting on the way home and then the heavens opened, so by the time I walked up the front steps here I was drenched to my undies! Oh well the walk did me good!
Last day at work today and it will be quiet as many folk off on their privilege day for the Queens birthday. I have the excitement of sending an email to each person who received a bonus - deep joy. We are out tonight with the children and their partners for our anniversary. Have opted for the local Greek restaurant which is 10 minutes walk away.
Safe travels again Gers and enjoy the gig!
Go steady Nels - no more smashing plates please unless you're in the Greek restaurant
Hope all okay with the new car taff and whatever the issue is can be fixed quickly
Hope all those planning Jubilee celebrations have a fab time. Hoping there will be some events happening in the IOW when we get there!

Morning all; bright and sunny here so far
It was really quite cold out last night. I had the heater on in the car both ways and by the time we'd finished playing for dancing outside the pub at about 9.30pm both my ring fingers had gone dead. Let's hope the weather gets a bit warmer from now on.
Today I'm volunteering at our first Community Larder in town. It's a trial run, which then becomes the real thing from next week, when I'll be doing alternate Wednesdays. Not sure how many users have signed up yet but it's bound to become more popular as food prices rise.
I braved the scales this morning and found the damage wasn't as bad as I'd imagined. That's given me the incentive to get back on track so I've had berries and seeds for breakfast this morning and will have a curry from the freezer tonight, maybe with some cauliflower rice.
Have a good day everyone.10 -
Morning everyone
Welcome home Gers. I remember when I came home from Frankfurt airport last year I was on the bus to the plane so long I thought I'd got on the wrong one!
Had a lovely lunch and catch up with my friend yesterday - I really enjoyed it.
Later in the afternoon I went to DDs and pulled more weeds out - it's almost finished now and looks a lot better. Little one whinged a lot cos I wasn't playing with her!
DD made tea so that was nice. When I came home I had lovely long soak in the bath and then sat outside in my pyjamas in the last of the sunshine and read and had a cuppa - it was lovely.
Today I'm going down to mam and dads for an hour or so, then I'm picking little one up from nursery as DD is working. We'll get the bus home, then she has asked to make pizzas on pitta breads for lunch. The she'll have a nap and then we've got the stones she collected from the beach to paint. After that we'll be out in the sunshine as it's forecast to be a lovely day.
Tomorrow my eldest DD comes home for a few days - she has requested lasagne for tea so I will cook the sauce in the slow cooker today and then little one and I can have some with spaghetti for tea tonight.
Better get on and get it in to cook before I go out.
Hope everyone has a good day. Nelski - go carefully x11
