Suggestions for Budget Weeks Away in Colder Seasons?

Hi all
We've always travelled abroad during the UK summer however we want to try to get some sun during the colder months at home and possibly save some money and free up time for garden improvements etc in doing so. Can anyone suggest any destinations they go to which are good value during cold weather in the UK? Ideally we'd love to have guaranteed sunbathing weather but are willing to take a bit of a chance. We don't have kids.

Hi Adam - The Canaries are a good bet but id avoid in Jan and Early feb as that's the riskiest time
Ive just checked and a typical cheap deal Family of 4 self catering is under £1000 total (That was Jet2 hols Man-TFS on 2/12/22 7nts self catering)
Nowhere is Guaranteed weather but that would give you a good chanc

Went to Portugal last November and from Lisbon south the weather was pretty damn good. Resorts on the Algarve were really quiet and accommodation was cheap. Flights to Faro from most UK airports aren't expensive. The only downside is that you may find a lot of things in the resorts aren't open in low seasons so it's up to yourself if that works for you.
If you fancy something further afield then you're generally going to get hot and sunny in SE Asia (Thailand probably the most common holiday destination), Central and South America (Mexico, Cuba, Dom Rep, etc) and Africa whenever you go.
If you don't have kids and can be flexible on dates it's amazing what you can find on flights.google.com sometimes.0 -
Short haul. Canaries, Madeira, north Africa, Egypt.
Slightly further Gambia, Cape Verde, UAE.
Long haul. India, Malaysia, Thailand, Laos etc, South Africa, Namibia, Southern US, Mexico, Caribbean.1 -
Egypt: I think that sun is guaranteed in Sinai (Sharm el Sheikh and so forth) while costs are pretty low.

We did Cape Verde in November and sunbathed all day every day. (not a lot else to do in Cape Verde )
This year we were in Sharm El Sheikh at the end of March and it was between 25 & 34 deg (they did say the 34 deg was exceptionally high for the time)Totally Debt Free & Mortgage Free Semi retired and happy1
