Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Now light and dry but air is cooler too and damp underfoot after rain during the night. More rain forecast
DH and DS1 getting ready for work, I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and my porridge whilst on here. DS2 settled and happy.
Lunch yesterday was a meal out with a family member - food was absolutely delicious.
Back to work today - we'll see how it goes.
Keep safe and well x

Morning All
Thanks for the start nmlc.
Wet and breezy this morning but very mild. After I had been for a dip yesterday and put out all the washing it rained heavily for a few hours, put the washing out a bit later and it nearly dried. No summer here yet.
I eventually did the dusting and hoovered round, cleaned the kitchen worktops and the bathrooms before an afternoon of sloth. Finished a book which I quite enjoyed and avoided the need for a nap!
Should be a busy week at work, I plan to go to the pool this evening, haven't been for ages due to lack of energy but I think I can manage a few lengths now.
Hope you've all had a good weekend, enjoy your week away TA.
Take care.XX

Good morning, thanks for starting NMLC.It's raining, seems a while since we had any significant rain.Yesterday was a nice enough day, Dh was feeling much better and we tidied the garden and I scrubbed the path (not on my hands and knees, but with a broom and bucket of soapy water!)Also ironed, and added to the charity shop pile, so it was quite a busy day all in all.Not a great deal going on today I don't think, apart from putting the summer quilt on the bed, and doing the usual jobs.TA and Maddiemay, hope you both enjoy your holidays, it's lovely to get away for a while.Hope everyone has a good day today, thinking of anyone who is not well, or struggling with life,Take care folks.12

Morning all
Dull and overcast here and rain due later I think, off to work for me but a short week this week as I have Thursday off for a first aid course for my new job and Friday is my day off, the FA course is only four hours so not an all day thing, I think I will arrange my shopping on the same day as its in the same town so will save another trip.
Yesterday was half a day of sloth and half a day of doing things, I booked all the ferry's for our holiday and got holiday insurance which included quad bike cover so thats two jobs out of the way, my sister also booked the taxi to and from the airport so we are all good to go
Dinner yesterday was a roasted chicken with lemon and time, with salad, coleslaw beetroot and I had a sweet potato, DD and OH had jersey royals with butter.
Not sue about dinner tonight will go and look in the freezer atfer this.
Have good days all xx12 -
Morning folks and thanks NMLC. Wow at last we are having a steady downpour of rain after the feeble mizzly attempts; Everywhere looks so much fresher for it and no need to go out and fill the bird baths as they are almost overflowing! If the forecasters are right after today it's a week of mild and sunny weather. So my fingers are crossed for that!
I thought I was all organised for my week away but yesterday my plans were scuppered a bit. Text off DD could I have youngest DGD all day while she ferried "Margot" to Leeds for her weekly Renaissance tuition. She's no bother so as usual it was nice to have her; But my next text was the biggest scupper! Te*co cancelling my order due for delivery after lunch!! Profuse apologies but this was due to an instore issue! I was rather annoyed as my meals for my week at the caravan had been planned round that and some items from my stores!! So today is Plan B. When DD comes to collect us after work we are stopping off at Aldi on route with fingers crossed I can get everything I want from there. Not the end of the world I know but annoying all the same! (And I am curious as to what the significant instore issue was to warrant cancelling all deliveries!)
I cooked a lovely gammon joint to take with me but a lot of this was devoured at lunchtime as it's DGD's favourite meat. I made a big pot of pea and ham soup with the stock also to take with me. She passed on that as the only soup she will eat is Heinz Tomato!
There is still no wifi at the site so I may be incommunicado for a while (do I hear a sigh of relief!!) I can follow all your news on my phone but sausage fingers are not very good for much waffling on it. Plus my contract doesn't give me a great deal of data on it and if I am going to make more use of the van this year I will have to increase it.
Have a good day folks and ((HUGS)) for all our poorlies, poorly loved ones or just fed up. MADDIE enjoy your few days away and I hope the weather is kind to us. Take care one and all and be safe xx

Morning folks. My plans yesterday got washed away ☔️ As I started the car for my jaunt the rain started, I thought it would only be a shower, after ten miles I turned back - it was now torrential and very misty, just horrible, it wouldn't be fun driving for an hour down and another hour back. I then headed up to Oban to collect the sack barrow (thanks Camelot) instead and a large storage box, the heavy rain persisted all day until it finally fizzed out by late evening. When back home I pulled on my raincoat and sowed some cornflower seeds in the new trough and filled the feeders.Today the sky is very dark and foreboding so I expect that more rain is coming. Usually May is a warm dry month in Scotland. I've got an appointment in town in a couple of hours, after that I'll batten down and stay put. A perfect time to finally finally tackle the guest bedroom. 😵💫
Ruby - where are you going? And when? I really enjoy reading about packing and holidaying after the past years of nothing.I hope that all the poorlies are doing OK. Happy Monday to everyone.12 -
Morning everyone, bit grey here this morning.
Thanks for the thread nmlc x
I had a day of knitting, TV catch up and generally resting yesterday after two late nights. I had a bath when I got up and a bath before bed – two baths – how indulgent. Also watched the women’s FA cup final – amazing stuff and the goals were great.
Back to WFH today. DD has returned to uni and DH will be back this evening so I need to put something together for dinner as I haven’t been food shopping for 10 days apart from a little fruit and veg. DS2 has gone to school for his last ever Monday – not sure how that happened! It’s also my youngest nephews birthday today, so will be speaking with him after school.
Enjoy your swim Camelot, and wow to the patio scrubbing Scarlet – more energy than me!
Annoying about the cancelled food delivery TA. Hope you can get everything later and enjoy your week away.
Shame your trip was cut short yesterday Gers, but good that you managed to get some jobs done at home.
Have a good day everyone,
Coxy

Morning all. Today I have to pick up some patterns I asked a local printer to print and arrange insurance for the car being as I bought it yesterday. It's like having the best pair of trousers with loads of pockets ever. There are hidden storage compartments eveywhere and the back seats are an absolute dream to lie flat, one push, job done. And the back doors slide open so great for car parks. On the way back we stopped at a BM type shop where I got some cat food and treats, phew, I was down to the last bowlful in the last bag. So for the rest of the week I will be gallivanting to stock up on stuff we are missing and fetch myself a table and legs so I can sew the outfit someone has asked me to make. It's a kind of Mad Hatter outfit, only the jacket, being as crazy as I like. I also made up some compost to pot on the tomatoes with my own, mixed with some earth and the stuff out of one of the big pots and some bfb. Finally sowed my cucumbers, beans and chard. I'm cutting right down on what I grow this year, only what I actually really like as opposed to what I will eat. The diet took a swan dive yesterday but has bravely paddled to the surface today.TA, what a pain! I['ve neer heard of one not being delivered before either! But enjoy your week away! camelot, slowly slowly catchee health monkey...Scarlet, glad he's better and my condolences. Ruby, productive weekend! Where are you off to? Gers, yep, I am joining the getting less strong club. Iused ot be able to carry a bag of compost, the large ones, easily. I can barely shift one from car boot to wheelbarrow now. It might be time to start lifting weights. Good for your bones anyway
Rosy, some people are just rude. I personally think it's incredibly rude to grow things in your garden you know are going to have an impact on the neighbours and not in a nice way [ she says with a 45ft multi stemmed conifer growing at the end of mine....] Nanny, hope the decorating is progressing nicely for you. Nelski, crossed fingers for a new cleaner for you. Coxy, I shall forever know you as Coxy Two Baths now...
Take care all, think positive thoughts for sun...Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi10 -
Good morning everyone and thanks for the start nmlc. We've had some rain during the night and it's still very grey so might get some more..Yesterday DH & I went to get our Euros and travel card for the trip to Greece next week for DN's wedding, she had her hen 'do' this weekend. I am dreading the airport though
Keep wondering if we can manage with just the hand luggage, think it's pushing it though I might try & fill one and weigh it! After the travel agent we went to HB and bought quite a lot of plants and a hanging basket so spent a happy afternoon getting my hands dirty, as the spring bedding is coming to an end but has been lovely. My oldest friend is driving down and we are going for lunch, not seen her for a while, they have a motor home and disappear on a regular basis, so that'll be nice. I'd better get something from the freezer for tea, there are sausages but DH isn't that keen
I might not need much depending on where we lunch out. Anyway, hope you all have a decent day whatever you're up to x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)12 -
Morning everyone
It's raining here and meant to continue all day - but then it's forecast to be nice and warm for the rest of the week.
Eldest DD has spent the weekend in Dublin with a friend from home - they've had a great time - she really likes Dublin. Back home to Germany today, then I thinks it's Milan the weekend after next!
I'm expecting a man to do my gas service this morning - I said I needed an early appointment as I go to work at 11.30, so will see if they turn up.
Other than that no plans for this week - just work in the afternoons.
TA - enjoy your time away in the caravan - remember to buy some treats when you're at Aldi.
Taff - enjoy your new car.
Hope everyone has a good day x11 -
DP1 - I forgot to write about your post yesterday - the tale of your little one and bed was just delightful. It really made me smile, inside and out.
