Morning everyone
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Still dark - dry underfoot.
DH and DS1 getting ready for work I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and brekkie whilst on here. DS2 settled and happy.
Dinner last night was LO pork from roast, LO yorkshires, with some added mash, veg and gravy - all eaten. Tonight will be hot quiche, pork pie, boiled egg, jacket potato, cheese, beans etc and side salad.
My half day at work today - working at my normal office - as another colleague is sick and they've needed to move staff about to cover. Easier for me to be honest as it's local to where I live, not the half an hour journey to get there.
Keep safe and well x

Morning All
I've slept in a little so running behind. Bedding in the WM but I think it will stay inside today. Upstairs dusted and hoovered last night so all looks tidy for the visitors.
DD isn't very well, she called for an appt at the Drs but no reply. Ended up going there to see if she could get an appt, the receptionist said it had been very busy but DD should phone. She pointed out she had been trying and tried again when she was in the surgery, the phone wasn't being used but was still engaged. Told the receptionist it was engaged, she pressed a button and it rang - she obviously had it off the hook! Anyway she got an appt, she has a chest infection. I watched the little one whilst she was there, we had fun with hair slides and stickers.
Damp this morning but could go either way.
Welcome to our new poster.
Hope you're OK after your fall Nanny.
Glad you're feeling better Scarlett.
Hugs to you Nelski.
Car passed it's MOT so all good there.
Take care. XX12 -
Morning folks.Camelot - that's shocking! What a way to run a surgery. Great news about MOT.
Today looks grey though there was a beautiful sunset last night so I'm hoping for a good day. I have nothing planned, still scanning, so it'll be quiet.Thoughts to all our poorlies. Happy Wednesday to all.12 -
Morning folks and thanks NMLC. It looks a bit gloomy out there but fine at the moment. They say we shall have rain later. Yesterday was beautiful and it felt really warm in the sun. I had a lovely coffee 'n lunch meet with oldest buddy. Lots of chatting done and we were both restrained when we ordered lunch - both had the veggie chilli. It's really nice but not very filling so it defeated the object when I had a big tea instead!
Bus trip day today with the usual wine 'n dine lunch. Only two of us today, our 3rd friend is nursing a poorly DH and doesn't really want to leave him home alone. We are fancying Otley again as we soon get withdrawal symptoms when we are not browsing in the Everything 20p Shop or the everything 99p cs!
DS came last night to fit my new shower. Most welcome as it's getting increasingly difficult getting in and out of the bath, though I do enjoy a soak once in there! Aint old age fun!
Have a good day folks if you can and I hope all our poorlies and ailing OH's are on the mend. ((HUGS)) for anyone in need of one and take care one and all. Stay safe and be kind xxx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"14 -

Taff I have frozen cauli cheese successfully in the past, I steam the cauli first then make the sauce and cover the cauli let it cool then freeze it always turns out well xxx
Snoozer there was a meeting and I had a call about a young lady who needs some help so I am hopefully going to meet her next week, I will need more clients than her but its a start !
Nels I hope you can get some help for your dear mum, that brother of yours is useless !!
Have good days all xxx12 -
Morning everyone well i have tried for more than 2 years to get referred to hospital as I have blocked tear ducts and constantly looking through water and my face gets sore with rubbing tears away but I have had 3 really nasty infections that have been really painful but the doctor has either left forgot or been on the sick and it’s never been done it doesn’t matter how many times I’ve chased it up but last Saturday I went to get my eyes tested and the optician referred me and I got a letter for a appointment in April then yesterday afternoon I got a phone call saying there had been a cancellation and could I go at 10 this morning so fingers crossed they will be able to do something. In other news I went on the market yesterday for my veg and popped to the stall that sells meat and pies I spent 20 pounds and was chatting away to the man and he helped me with my bags and off I rushed to work when I got in last night and there had been a problem with my bank and they had taken everyone’s money out twice it did go back in overnight but there was no point in checking anything then I woke up at 12 last night and thought I didn’t pay for my meat he does take card and when I have checked this morning I haven’t I do popp to him quite regularly so I will have to go on Tuesday and pay him that’s what you get for talking I wouldn’t care he said I have 3 packs of bacon chops 6 in a pack with today’s date on if you want them they are alright to freeze you can have them for a pound a pack it cost me 3 pounds for 18 bacon chops and then I walked away without even paying the poor man thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing12

Morning everyone and thanks for the start @nmlc.
A bit grey here this morning. I have the house to myself as DH is in Newcastle today. Pup is keeping me company
Couple of bits to sort today including applying for a new passport. Mine runs out in July and I’m due back to Cyprus then. I also want to open a regular savings account, so will sort that today. Dinner will be bolognaise rigatoni – a SW recipe @LadyHarriet – made it last night so only need to reheat and do some veg on the side.
Wow @Camelot that’s terrible about the GP’s phone – hope your DD is on the mend soon. Great news about the MOT.
Fingers crossed you can get some support for Mum @Nelski – it’s not easy when someone won’t accept help.
@IzzyBee - good luck at the GP.
Hugs to those with health or other worries. Thinking of you all and hope today is a better day.

Morning all. Unfortunately not sunny...On the plus side, the tomatoes are sown and I repotted what was struggling to grow of what was left of my mothers cheese plant. It does look healthier now than It did when it was in Wales, the two leaves left were growing sideways [radical prune]. A winter in the lean to and they're now upright. I think potatoes will go in today. I'm also going to be sowing in the front garden this year, some chard wouldn't go amiss in there or some lettuce. I'm going to stick to my guns of growing what we actually eat instead of the super easy stuff, like runner beans [ lovely but too much, prefer yellow ones etc]Izzt, hope they can sort you out today...Sounds awful and annoying..Ruby, thanks, I will give it another go. Good luck with your meeting to be! TA, enjoy your day out again! camelot, glad it pased for you...always a worry..Nels, that's one of the problems isn't it? They think they're fine but we can see them deteriorating, but they're stubborn so and so's and won't accept help. Let's hope she gets on the care wagon soon...Nanny, sorry, don't got the sandman here...Look after yourselves all...Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi12

Good morning,
Dry but cloudy here. Slept really well last night, my Fitb*t tells me I had over 2 hours deep sleep which is unheard of😴
Plan to go for a walk this morning, then start packing for a walking holiday with my sister next week. Gave myself a mini pedicure yesterday as my feet were painful after my last walk, not good before next week🚶♀️
Need to put the beef in the slow cooker before I go out as we're having a roast dinner tonight😋
Hugs to all the sad and poorly
Have as good a day as you can🌻11 -
Good morning, all. Definitely not such a pretty day today - chilly and grey. So glad that I did the washing on Monday and Tuesday and got it out on the line to dry, though the sheets needed a short blast in the tumble dryer with four of the merino dryer balls that we invested in (they do seem to make a bit of difference).
I did a bake yesterday - a wholemeal loaf, wholemeal rolls, a Cherry Madeira cake + four Cherry Madeira cupcakes (the recipe makes enough for a 1lb loaf tin and a bit over, hence the cupcakes). Unusually for me, I've run out of caster sugar and I will be baking Lemon Drizzle Cupcakes to take on Friday to the National Trust property where I'm a costumed volunteer - I bake for my fellow volunteers and the Visitor Management team - it satisfies my inner Mary Berry while I'm still trying to keep going with Slimming World and not scarfing down what I make!
We have our cat groomer coming this afternoon to deal with our 8 month old kitten's underarm knots - she's a Maine Coon and though we can groom her everywhere else, she strongly objects to us sorting out her knotty pits.
@camelot1001 - good news about the MOT, but what a way to run a Drs surgery! Hope DD is feeling better soon.
@TravellingAbuela - we took out the bath and installed a shower just before the first lockdown. We rarely used the bath as a bath and it seemed silly going forward to keep it as a Very Highsided Shower Tray. So much better as we get older and less athletic!
@IzzyBee - great that you got a cancellation, really hope that they can do something to help. Having poorly eyes is so tiring!
@Coxy11 - I love the SW pasta recipes - and we have pasta tonight (just need to decide which SW recipe to use!)
@-taff - we're getting to grips with the vegetable garden this year - last year was a washout, but yes, we need to grow what we really want to eat and since I'm fed up with feeding the local cabbage whites with my broccoli, I'll be axing that in favour of broad beans, runner beans, peas, potatoes, and carrots. I have no luck with members of the brassica family 😥.
Hugs to all who would like one - take care, all xxx11 -
Afternoon all, I'm late today, but I do have a note 😁
Yesterday was full of interruptions and everything took ages to complete, plus Mr Fix It received a letter from the tax man and his code was wrong ( they had been notified in Jan but it seems it hadn't been processed yet 🙁 ) Anyway we got it sorted asap by a lovely chap, but it was ages just waiting in the queue for a person to speak to.
This morning it's raining but we went to town for some bit and bobs shopping, luckily most of the walkways are undercover. Surprisingly it wasn't very busy except for gangs collecting in the most awkward places so that everyone had to detour around them 🙄 ....... blummin pensioners 🤣 I visited the haberdashery shop as DGD has asked me to make some rugs for her toy horses and I had nothing suitable. I did get some, I hope, suitable material and trims but I had to cut my meandering short as himself felt ill, so we went to the coffee shop for a sit down, drink and a biscuit, I think he had a rapid sugar drop. He seems ok now but I shall make sure he rests this afternoon. I haven't sorted the shopping yet so I'll do that this afternoon and the dw needs filling with the lunch dishes then starting up.
Camelot I know my memory is bad but I don't think it was me that fell, I think it was TA. Don't start me off about the GP surgery but good job you called in and got everything sorted for them 😲. I hope your DD gets better asap.
LadyH ooooh ! I love Maine coon cats, they're so beautiful. What colour is she ?
taff are you sure you haven't got him ? Do I need to come and frisk your wardrobe 🤣
Izzy that's awful to have to wait that long for an appointment about your blocked tear ducts, well done to the optician though. I hope it all went well at the appointment today.
Right I'd better sort this shopping, sadly it won't do itself.
Take care all,
nan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently9
