Morning everyone

Still dark - dry underfoot.

DH and DS1 getting ready for work I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and brekkie whilst on here.  DS2 settled and happy. 

Dinner last night was fish, herby new potatoes and beans for the menfolk.  I had fish and veg.  Tonight will be either pork braised in stock with LO yorkshires, mash and veg or egg, bacon, sausages etc.

Yesterday turned into a nightmare - was asked to go to work early to cover someone going sick, (there's a surprise!) went to start my car and it was dead, so had to get a taxi to work but was late by the time the taxi could get me there, (roadworks and road closures and normal peak time traffic) - work had got people already waiting when I got there .. day was busy and then picking up things that hadn't been done by other members of staff.  Had to get a taxi home also - once home, I looked up what was needed and once DS1 came home we went straight to Halfords and got what was needed and he went off into the garage and got the new part put on and it seems ok at present - we'll see.  Hope it's sorted as that wasn't cheap and don't really want to be spending any more.

Morning all

Dry and sunny here but feels very cold, off to work for me and just the two clients today one of them can make a butternut squash soup and the other wont cook and just wanders around quite aimlessly and half heartedly does a few jobs, its hard to keep him busy all day.

Got the cauli cheese for dinner tonight as I forgot to get the sausages out of the freezer yesterday, so we had filled pasta with salad and garlic bread last night.

DW to empty this morning and I will give the kitchen a quick tidy before work.

Glad you had a good holiday Coxy although it sounds like you were unlucky with the weather.

I went swimming last night (in the pool) and was much better than last week, it's given me a bit of a lift, thought I would never get my strength back after having Covid. Also found out that I can have a cheaper membership so will organise that.

Car goes for a service and MOT today, fingers crossed!

DS1 phoned last night to say they were all coming here for the weekend so had better get some housework done this week, the bedrooms could do with having a duster waved at them, haven't done them for ages although they are all tidy.

Morning folks and thanks NMLC.  What a day you had, I hope today is better.  Where is everybody this morning, I hope you are doing better than me and having a lie in. I was awake at silly o'clock. Bah!  Anyway the sun is shining and we are promised another spring like day.. Yesterday was lovely until teatime when it decided to rain.

Yay it's Tuesday so it's coffee and lunch day with oldest buddy. With thoughts of better weather coming at last I must choose from the healthy eating selection as I still have the half stone put on over the winter to shift before summer comes!

Morning folks - thanks for starting us off nmlc, I hope that today is better for you and alls well with your car now. 

Yesterday afternoon I completed the online Scottish census which only took about 10 minutes. The faff came earlier as I had to phone up to get internet access codes because I hadn't received the promised letter. My address wasn't on their system so that took ages on the phone to sort out. The call agent struggled with the place names, turns out she was in London. 😂 Anyway, it's done for another 10 years. 

Today I need to go into town briefly and then I'm going to visit the father of the chap up the hill, he's turned very frail rather quickly and can't get out anymore. I'll happily chat to him for a while. There's still masses of scanning to be done too. 

Weather is still challenging Spring, my raincoat is not being packed away yet! 

I hope that our poorlies are doing OK. Special thoughts to NRA. Happy Tuesday to all.

Nels, sorry to hear you've been ill, it's made worse by the fact that you are on your own, I hope you're feeling better.

Thank you for the good wishes everyone, yesterday was a much better day - I'm still coughing a bit, but.the painful throat has gone.

Funny how it flared up seemingly quite suddenly.

Now it's my DH's turn, he's got a hot red slightly swollen patch on the top of his foot, there's no obvious injury,.  He will ring the Drs when they open.  He has bad circulation in his feet so shouldn't neglect things like this  (he's learned this from bitter experience)

A few of us seem to be "in the wars" at the moment.

I did go to Do*bies yesterday and we had a good chat.  I've noticed before there, there are always lots of female groups having good chats.

We had a look round before we left, and I noticed some beautifully patterned wrapping paper, thick and expensive, for wrap anyway. When I got home I was thinking it would be nice for using on cards as a background, so I'll go back for some.

Just general stuff to do today, then the quiz tonight, hope DH can make it.

NMLC, what a nightmare, I hope the car is fixed.

TA, my sleep has been rubbish as well recently.

I managed to sew another binding on a quilt so I only have two to do now. I usually hand sew them on the back but I've been machine sewing them to save time. It doesn't look as good but I decided I wanted then finished and I have a couple of hand sewing projects going so it would have been weeks before I could get to them.

We have to go to Bedford, Steve for an eye check and me for a blood test. Then I want to make some sweetcorn fritters for Esben before we head down for our regular visit.

Morning everyone washing is hung out towels are on the line after hubby slipped in the bath last night and he managed to soak the carpet on the landing I have no idea how but it turns out a bath bomb I got for my birthday he decided he would try it and it made the bath slippery serves him right if I had suggested he used a bath bomb he would have had the horrors is he a pain in the backside and that’s been polite.it’s supposed to be a sunny day I need to go to the market for a veg pack and then off to work pasta bake for tonight and I won’t be doing much else hope all the poorlies are feeling better we seem to have. Lot lately hope the care is sorted NMLC have a good day everyone whatever you are doing

Morning everyone and thanks for the start @nmlc. Sorry to hear of the car issues and hope all is okay this morning. Typical on the day you needed to be in work early!

Glad you’re feeling better @ScarletRibbons and hope DH can get advice regarding his foot.

As expected, work was full on yesterday with 75 emails to trawl though. I heard back from the other job application – another No – they had over 300 applications, to be expected, I guess.

DH is going to Newcastle late afternoon and staying over and DS2 is eating out/going to the cinema tonight, so just me here for food later.  Will make some soup – roasted butternut and pepper, as they need using up. Whilst I’ve got the oven on, I’ll cook the bolognaise bake for tomorrow nights’ dinner too.

Will wash the pups bedding today and get it out on the line as it’s another nice bright day here.

Another nice start to the day, I was just going to go out for a walk yesterday afternoon when my ex SisiL rang to say thanks for her birthday card...nearly an hour later she hung up. No sooner had I put the phone down it rang again, one of our closest friends.Another long call so I gave up the walk idea and started making tea! Moroccan spiced chicken tonight. Not much on the cards today, need to do my MrT order. I think our neighbours are back from Egypt later today, they asked us to put their bin out in case they weren't back so that's been done.

Right another cuppa for me,thinking of NRA and others who are ill, take care all x

Morning all. Kind of sunny again, it makes such a difference to your mood when it's not hissing with rain. Got off my harris yesterday and cut the grass and weeded the front garden,as well as the washing and stuff. We had flatbreads with chicken marinaded in the yoghurt that's been in the fridge since september, [opened as well!] so from now on I will ignore dates on that. OH is off to Nottingham to play little men and go to the mecca that is Warhammer world so I'll have the same again tonight, he won't be back until late. I chucked a bit of this and a bit of that in the marinade and it was lovely. SHows how long it's been since I made something like that.

Today I have no idea what's going on, luckily I have no appointments so I will lady of leisure myself, wafting round airily, languidly slouching on the sofa...Nah,not really, I expect I'll find something to do. Paperwork needs sorting after a bumper post on Saturday, house needs hoovering and I have to finish the food inventory and sow my tomato seeds after I discovered I still have some compost left from last year. the potatoes could go out, I saved some from last years crop, saves me buying seed potatoes this year.

YL, I'm not sure whether to say well done or not, sometimes you just need a break. Gers, belated Happy Car Day. I've always been a bit scared of automatics but I'm coming round the the idea these days. My firend loves hers and always has one. Ruby, i love cauli cheese, OH dislikes it so I was tempted by the frozen one on Sunday. What's your recipe and freezing system? Mines always rubbish if I do that to it. Camelot, these things sometimes take time so glad to hear you're on the mend.. TA, enjoy your day out! Scarlet, two birds with one stone innit? Socialising AND plants, what could be better?
