Agency worker

I have been working for an agency for the first time ever for the last 12 weeks as a hgv driver working within the same company 5 days a week every week.
The company has asked me to join full time and i have agreed as i like the work and have always been employed full time.
I rang my agency to give one weeks notice and was told this.
I have to notify them i am going Temp to perm starting now and will have to do another 12 weeks without any time off at all.
I am very disappointed by this.
Is this correct and what is stopping me from working one weeks notice , then having a weeks holiday , then joining this company.
Surely it's my life and my decision. Am very confused by this.
Anyone have any Thoughts

Read whatever written information the agency have provided to you at the point you began working with them or since but before you gave them notice.  See whether you have to give them any notice at all.

The fact that the offer to you was made after you completed 12 weeks in the same role with one client may be significant for the agency.  They will have a contract with the client (your prospective employer) which may mean that after a certain time the client doesn't have to pay them a fee for finding you.

You are not a slave and they cannot demand you work for another 12 weeks with no time off.

How are they paying for your holidays?  Did you have time off over Christmas and New Year?

Most agency contracts have clauses in both the contracts to stop clients taking a contractor/agency staff and then offering them a direct contract. Both you and the client needs to read the existing contracts to see what you agreed to.

Why didn't you  simply inform them that you were serving notice to resign and remain silent after that? I think this move should have been done as discretely as possible to try and avoid this sort of difficulty.
