I have to give up my credit cards due to social services taking control of my finances?

they are getting a deputyship because I lack capacity with my finances.

I have 4 credit cards. All will be paid off end of this month. I owe about £800 on all which I have in my savings.

How do I shut them down? Do I ring them and they will close them there and then? Will they calculate the interest or do I have to wait until that generates?

Will this have an effect on my credit score and will I still be able to get a contract phone in September. I currently don't have any problems getting contracts.

Will the deputyship stop me in the future getting a mobile phone, will it black list me so to speak?

Don't worry about your credit score. It's a made up figure that lenders do not see.

To close them just ring providers & they will advise what you need to do.

Hi - if I were you I would wait until the deputy is appointed and is actually working for you. He or she will help and advise you with shutting down your credit cards once they are paid off.  

The Deputy will also be able to advise you about getting a contract phone - I don't see that having a deputy will blacklist you at all. In fact, it will probably make things better for you.

Having a deputy is a good thing and nothing to worry about. They won't expect you to have sorted everything out before they are appointed, since that will be their task.

It sounds as if social services are taking good care of you. Try not to worry, they are on your side.
