Large villa(s) wanted in early October near an airport

Like most people i don't normally do this but i want to book a large villa(s) or similar near an airport with easy cheap reliable? flights from all parts of the UK inc Scotland and NI. It's for a family gathering and we would like people to be able to arrive independently & do their own thing without a car as well as self catered shared meals and the odd restaurant meal COVID permitting as some CEV people in the group. Thoughts were Alicante Malaga Faro Nice. The usual Airbnb bookings.com etc don't seem to offer these types of rentals that easily in their filtered results.

So does anyone have any experience of doing this? Where did you find what you wanted? All suggestions gratefully received including locations.

  • I think your issue here is going to be many large villas are going to be off the beaten track away from train and bus connections, and will neccesitate taxis to be used on a regular basis.

Malaga not a bad place to start looking tbh as the train station runs under the airport and goes down the coast a fair bit.

Have you considered Florence ? There's a pretty good local transport system.

Almost certainly not as many direct flights from regional UK airports to Florence as there are to the likes of Malaga, although a single connection might make it possible at a higher cost (Amsterdam/Paris could be good options to look at).

Maybe October weather, less regional flights and rental prices would make Italy less viable? Glad to hear of suggestions though i hadn't thought of Italy.

Menorca is probably still an option then. Plenty of flights and lots of villas around Binibeca which isn’t far from the airport.
