I was after a caravan and suddenly there are two bids for £65000!!!   Then I looked and his/her other caravans had the same £65000 bids.
Link may not work so here is the caravan I was following, look at the other items for sale by this seller.  https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/144387542286?hash=item219e2b0d0e:g:XAAAAOSwCOJh8rRI

Everyone is photographed in a different location. I would say its scam just to get a load of deposits for them them and then disappear

Compromised account - multiple listing scammer - there are those that search the scams, then bid up the prices to stop genuine people winning and losing money as Ebay are next to useless in dealing with it. Lucky escape you didn't win it.

Half the selling price from other adverts and vans of similar age?

Caravans are high risk when buying. Make sure its registered and phone the register to check the paperwork
given to you is not fake.

Thanks all, yes I know about losing a deposit out of ebay and would not have done it.
Just never come across such a blatant scammer on ebay before.
Still looking for a decent caravan and will be very careful, we looked at one last week and checked against the stolen database  https://www.caravanfacts.com/modules.php?name=Stolen_Caravans   but it had damp in a corner so we decided not to buy.

Well I just received this email from the scammer!!!

    Hello,
I did not have enough time to sell the caravan before my departure from England and since I am in Scotland now there are only 2 ways to do this sale:

    * The first option is to use a transport company that deals with the transaction, caravan and money as escrow. I travel for my work and I do not have time to bring the caravan and I think your free time is limited too, so this is the perfect way to make things easier, faster and safe for both of us. I will pay the company, so you will not pay extra money then the caravan price. You will get the caravan to your home address, and you can check the caravan before making the final decision. I think this is the perfect way for us.

    * The second option is by using PayPal pay after delivery service: https://www.paypal.com/uk/webapps/mpp/pay-after-delivery-terms

Please let me know how you want to continue with this transaction and I will provide more details.
    Regards,
    Michael Oates

If I had the time I would string them on trying to get more info and share it with potential buyers.

Not sure if the vans too big or too small, its close to your cars max tow do they have anything lighter for sale.

Ask about awnings and accessories, is it hard to pitch your new to caravanning etc etc....  It could be useful to
potential buyers on where they are getting their pictures from.

The same thing has just happened over the weekend. I requested more information and just received an email with photos and an asking price, even though the caravan supposedly sold yesterday!
