Query From Technophobe

I have always been a VM mobile, landline and broadband customer. My last mobile phone purchase was an unlocked one from Argos that has a dual sim. My kids were with giffgaff so to get the free giffgaff to giffgaff texts/ calls, I put a giffgaff sim in one slot and the old VM sim/ number in the other slot. I knowI need a pac code which I've got - just waiting on the new provider sim. Query - do I need to unlock the phone also? I called VM and they said 'no, as it's not our phone' but the new provider (online chat), said I would need to get the phone unlocked. Can someone help please?

If you've been using VM mobile in one slot and giffgaff in the other slot then it's already unlocked as they run on different networks (EE/Vodafone (depending on the age of your VM SIM) and O2 respectively).

With the above in mind, in direct answer to your query - you won't need to unlock the phone again.
