Good morning, seems quite reasonable outside today, we might get out and tidy up a bit, heaven knows it needs it.We collected our duvet from M&S yesterday, and I had a quick look through the sale stuff, but didn't buy. I was looking at the clothes mainly, always a temptation for me, but resisted. We have been invited for a meal tomorrow evening at a friend's house, and I thought I might buy a new top for that, but I really don't need it, I have clothes that don't see the light of day often enough as it is.The shopping centre was packed, but we weren't there long. When we got home I did a few jobs, then sat about yawning for a bit, I'd had a bad night.Nels, hope you're ok after the terrorists vist.Hope everyone is ok in fact, thinking of the poorly and sad people - take care folks.13

Morning
Raining again and a wicked wind oh well… still no plans to do a Gene Kelly on the lampost so not an issue.
As I expected the terrorists signed me off yesterday. Would love to say I am no longer in need of their brilliant work but I’m afraid I’ve used my quota so I’m on my own now
Asda delivery later today (with extra butter!) expecting lots of subs as every time I went to amend it there was more out of stocks. Not really desperate for anything but it has lots of veg and fruit which I do need. (does wine count as fruit?)
Watched Shirley Valentine last night ..great film that I’ve seen umpteen times but still love it.
Going to cook a gammon in coke today in the slow cooker. Probably not for tonight but may sneak a slice when its ready for tasting purposes of course
Final couple of decorations to come down today
Have a good day everyone

Morning folks. My night was really disturbed, no idea why. I seemed to waken every half hour or so but not for long. Upshot is I'm still under my duvet, reluctantly awake.Yesterday was awful, in the morning the rain was battering down and then in the afternoon the winds became really stormy. I got out into town, did the tip run and then found that the one shop I wanted was still closed until today, so no fresh bread. I've now ordered from the cafe at the marina for tomorrow. They only bake bread to order and it takes two days, meanwhile I'll delve into the freezer. My lovely new top arrived. It's a replacement for the faulty one I bought from JL recently and had to return. They didn't have any more in my size but I found the same one on the maker's website at the same half price so I'm delighted. That's my clothes buying done for a long while!Lunch will be foraged from the bits in the fridge and I have eggs to use up, think I'll boil them and mash up. There's also half a red cabbage to cook. It goes such a long way that I used half for Christmas now I'll have more for New Year's Day with plenty for the freezer. Apart from that I anticipate a rather dull day here. 😀 Haven't peeked outside yet, it sounds calmer here than yesterday.DP1 - it's so good that your DD1 made it across, she'll be back so it's something to look forward to. 🌺 I hope she has a good journey home.Camelot - I imagine that you're drowning under a ton of bedding!Nelski - sorry that you've been signed off, you've done so well so far. Keep going.Perhaps it's time for me to shift myself.Thinking about our poorlies and missing. Happy Thursday to all.13

Morning All
Wet and windy this morning and has been most of the night. The bins are out along with the Christmas tree, it had gone really crispy but still didn't drop any needles, never had one die on me before but it had been in the house longer than usual.
We managed a family lunch yesterday in Glasgow, great food and good chat. Had a look in TK Max after as the town was very quiet. Bought a new quilt cover (my favourite one had ripped next to the seam so couldn't be mended) and a new plant pot, now need to get a plant to put in it!
DS2 and his DP have gone into Glasgow this morning as he has an appointment at the passport office, his is full. They will probably stay in town for lunch so I am having a tidy up and stripping more beds (you're right Gers, between bedding and towels it's like a laundry here!).
Keep going Nelski, you'll get there. Enjoy baking from your new book. It wasn't me but I did know about it.
Hope your DD is back safely dp1, you will be feeling a little down I would imagine.
Hope everyone is well and enjoying these few restful days.
Take care. XX12 -
Morning everyone it’s dry and a bit milder here but so gloomy but at least the heating is not getting put on I think a lot of people are going to be really worried about these rising prices.Hubby decided yesterday he was at deaths door he felt sick and was coughing he did a test it was negative he threw half of his meal in the bin it had no taste he’s a pain in the backside to feed anyway he’s got up today and he’s fine such a drama Queen I’ve told him to decide what he wants to eat today as I’m not standing cooking to put it in the bin he said he doesn’t want nothing good that saves me a job I will just make something nice for myself. There will be no money spent in here now until the new year and I’m just enjoying my next few days off have a lovely day everyone whatever you are doing11

Morning folks and thanks SCARLET for the new daily. I'm late to the party today but sadly it's not because I slept in. I was awake more than I was asleep through the night, tossing and turning and getting wound up 'cos I couldn't sleep.
After being stuck in the house eating and watching old films since Boxing Day I have decided to get the bus into town this morning. I don't need anything at all but maybe a bit of fresh air and a wander round will perk me up. It was chucking it down earlier but we now have blue sky, although still windy. I think the rain is due back later. I am now killing time waiting for the bus!
I got all the picky bits and pieces, as well as all the remaining sweet stuff, shoved in the freezers yesterday out of harm's way. I cooked a small gammon joint and made ham and lentil soup with the stock. The gammon made a healthier change with some salad and baby potatoes and plenty left for today and tomorrow. The soup will accompany my lunchtime wraps for the next few days.
Have a good day folks and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies and poorly loved ones. Extra hugs for those bidding farewell to their loved ones after having them home for Christmas. Take care one and all and be safe xx

Morning, hugs if you need one. Another night I could not sleep, am getting really fed up, will try for an appointment with the Dr next week. I woke at one point, so hot........nealry had a fit, did a test but it was negative, must admit I felt lousy but seem to be ok now. DB seems to think the duvet is making me too hot, but if I change it, the temperatures will go down and I will be freezing again.
Towels in the washer, I might ust risk them on the line its blowing a bit and DB says its up to 14c outside. Picked the paint for the decorating have emailed him to collect the charts. Have picked a slightly hinted pink, fed up with magnolia.
Tomorrow we have to go into town to collected DB's new glasses, will kill several birds with one stone. Need a small top up shop, mainly fruit. Stuff to go to the charity shop, DB wants stuff from Wilko. We have arranged to meet DD2 for a snack lunch and are then going to order the carpet for the bedroom and put fuel in the car on the way home. Will be shattered when we get back.
Chicken out to cook for tonights supper, will have it with rice, I have some cream to use up.9 -
Hello lovely people, the weather is same old wet and windy again.
I got everything done yesterday then felt tired so went to bed early, well early for me, then slept the sleep of the dead. Almost 12hrs and only one toilet break, must have needed that sleep.
Today I've found more washing magically appear overnight so the wm is on again. The hoover will be danced around the downstairs today and I want to look through my presents again as they're still in a xmas bag in the office, except my comfy oodie, which will be worn to death. It's supposed to be worn to the knees but I'm soooo vertically challenged it's almost ankle length on me 😂 Good job it's not green or I'd look like Yoda !!
We are having some of the LO xmas curry ( from the freezer ) and chips for tea, I think I'll make a fruit cocktail with some fruit from the fruit bowl and top it with cream or ice cream, or both !!
Nels we Dailies could be your stand in terrorists and keep you on the straight and narrow. Now " Get those knees up girl - It'll be Star jumps tomorrow " 😁 Don't want you back to square one I love you too much BFF 🧡
Izzy hope you enjoy yourself today.
Scarlett well done on the no clothes shopping, I need to take that on board. I could do with a wardrobe cull but I hate throwing/ giving stuff away because you bet I'll need it, and then I'll go out and buy more of the same 🤨
I think I need to hoick the Sandman out of the wardrobe and send him around tonight to the ones having trouble sleeping.
Take care and stay safe all. Hugs to all

Just just cleared out one of my many cupboards of doom and found a £10 note!
Not much on the horizon now except to collect my medications from the surgery. I have a radiotherapy appt. next week so am doing all I can to avoid Covid.
Best wishes to all for the New Year9
