Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Morning folks.Yesterday I managed to put a lot of stuff into a rubbish bag and cleared out the wicker box I keep on my coffee table. Other things are now back upstairs though they may well end up out the door sometime soon. 😀I swerved the utility room clear out but today is the day, I can't bear things on surfaces, especially when they serve no real purpose. It feels as if they just creep up in the middle of the night, like the Borrowers in reverse. 😅
Apart from that and bringing in more logs my day is open to offers.Happy Tuesday to all.13 -
Good morning, thanks for starting Gers. It's the 3 D's this morning, dark, damp and dreary.Sorry to hear your news about nephew Csarina, hope he can be treated.Glad you like the book Nels, I'm another one whio knew, but it wasn't me!!We went to a local shopping centre yesterday in search of a new duvet, the place was packed. Anyway, I couldn't find what I wanted, so I've ordered it on the internet and can pick it up tomorrow. I also had my eye on a cardigan in Marks, but that seemed to be out of stock as well.I have no plans for today, I'll probably just look round our local shops, or we'll go for a walk. The garden is desperate for a tidy, but everything is so wet. The path is muddy, and needs a swill, altogether it looks awful.Thinking of our poorly people and those struggling with life generally.Take care folks.14

Morning folks and thanks GERS for starting us off. We had a day of thick fog all day yesterday, so not much improvement on the snow from the day before! Today is forecast to be slightly better!
After putting all my pressies away yesterday and potting an Amariyllis I then sank into sloth mode, scoffing chocolates, Christmas cake and cheese. along with anything else highly calorific I could lay my hands on. Today I intend to eat a bit more healthily as, after 5 days of gluttony, I am feeling a bit like Humpty Dumpty. Naughty stuff must go in the freezer out of harm's way.
I have just put on a lights wash and the dw will go on next job. I think the vac needs a trundle round too.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, poorly loved ones and those glad it's all over for another year!! Take care one and all and be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"11 -
Morning all.
Thanks for the thread Gers and hugs to all those in need.
Another wet day here, the levels are rising here and the ground is waterlogged, Beano and I are going for paddles rather than walks.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester.Chin up, Titus out.11 -
Morning all and thanks for the thread Gers.
You sound much more productive than me Gers. I have spent the last two days lounging around, eating and watching TV. Yesterdays watching included Crazy Rich Asians (recorded), Paddington 2, Finding Dory and the new BBC drama about the Argyll divorce.
I will get outside today – we need some fresh veg, so will walk down to the SM. Will also see if T!mpsons are open – left a pair of boots to be resoled 2 weeks ago and no word since. Turkey and ham leftover pie for tea tonight.
There are some Christmas serving plates/dishes to be wrapped and stored back in the loft. I also want to tidy round and sort the Christmas goodies into some kind of order. We currently have 14 boxes of chocs, cake and biscuits on the worktop – most of which were gifted and unopened. Will check dates and take some to the food bank collection point in the SM.
There’s a fair bit of ironing to do today and still need to wash the spare bedroom bedding/towels as didn’t get around to it yesterday.
Hope you all have a lovely day,
Coxy

Hi everyone,
I'm feeling grumpy because my new laptop is faulty so Steve took it back yesterday. He was refused a replacement because he bought it just over the 28 days they allow fo r replacement even though he made it plain he was buying it as a Christmas present. It's now gone away for repair and will take between 14 and 28 days. I don't think Curry's will be receiving any more of our business and we have bought quite a few of our electrical items from them. I have DM'ed them on Twitter but am not holding my breath. I'm back on the old laptop.
On a happier note I planned the revamp of the smallest bedroom into a sewing space and ordered the furniture for it. I will have to do my cutting out on the dining room table and probably the big machine will live there because I will hve drop down work tables so I'm a bit worried about the weight of the machine. Most of the fabric and so on can live in the new room though.
I think I will put away most of the decorations today and just leave the tree until tomorrow. I think I'll also go through the boxes and discard the things I haven't been using, either to a CS or to the tip.
Have a good day.11 -
Morning all, pretty wet here too, think BigDog will be having a very short walk, she doesn't like rain. I'm the only one up as well, DH came with me to the park yesterday morning.I sorted out the turkey leftovers, and at night we just had dips and nibbles with cheese and crackers. I think I feel like a proper tea tonight but don't know whatLost sight of what day it was yesterday and nearly forgot to put all the recycling bins out for this morning, luckily heard next door about 10. I was all ready for bed so DH had to do it on his own.Sorry for the boring post, nothing happening really, just chilling, reading and watching cheesy movies
, oh and eating...

Morning all. May make a foray into town today [via bus, my new mantra, still no car] to the health food shop and get myself some different magnesium, I stopped taking the other one due to unfortunate side effects, but there are different types apparently and I'm fed up of being woken up by cramp now. The beef thing I chucked together yesterday is good. I chucked in a bit of orange juice again and it does seem to work giving it a certain something.I'll scrape the fat off that after, strip the bones and reduce in a saucepan. I'll make a stock with the bones too if they're OK. Tea tonight is going to be the picky tea, the roast was finished off yesterday. Now here comes the ham and my picallili..nom...Don't know what OH is up to today, could be XBox, could be painting little men...who knows...and the milkman has been, just in time too, last of the extra milk I bought was used last night. I really need two cups of tea in the morning to wake upLook after yourselves today, anything goes within reason.....Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi11

Morning
Grim day up north today. Throwing it down and still dark.
Got loads done yesterday including 4 bin runs going to stick to my resolution getting rid as it crops up but in my defence I feel stupid enough going out there on a walker but wearing pjs too would be the talk of the closeFood ended up as a cheese ham and pickle sandwich with loads of pickled onions and some pringles! Couldn't believe how many bags of turkey portions I stripped from the crown Ill be having it for a while into 2022 good job I love it.
So today i want to continue mission keep the house tidy. Like you Gers I hate stuff on surfaces unless its in daily use but because I struggle to reach the top shelf of cupboards some stuff has stayed out so going to rethink that one today. Also have a couple of support calls to make. One of the ladies is an amazing Indian cook so I always have a notepad ready for some recipes. Think food tonight needs to be a freezer rummage possibly liver or sausage casserole
Talking of recipes sounds like I am the happy victim of a mass conspiracy with my book. You really are a thoughtful bunch of friends and I am so grateful to you all for your support during a pretty rough year and i promise there will be many recipes tried and reported on. Best double my normal butter order. Thank you again you lovely lot
Right best crack on have a good day all
