Good morning, seems to be dry outside, and not quite as cold.I managed to go to Dob*ies yesterday and got what I wanted, then straight home to our little town, called at Tosco on the way home. The shops are busy, as you would expect.i just spent the rest of the day at home, catching up, and we went to the quiz last night.Nothing planned for today, though there's a box of things for the charity shop, but DH can take them in the car.Poppy, your flowers are beautiful, really lovely.Hope everyone has as good a day as they can, NMLC hoping you and the family are feeling better.Take care folks14

Morning All
Thanks for the start Scarlet, I like your shopping style!
Chilly this morning, I've put the heating on for a whilst I potter about. First day of the holidays for me, it's been a long slog since the October break at work but we made it! I'm fully expecting to do some work during the break as all the guidelines are changing daily and we will have to keep the parents informed.
Last night I gave the upstairs bathroom a really good scrub, the tiles aren't the easiest to clean and not sure it looks much better but at least I know it's clean. I've a few jobs to do today but nothing too taxing. Must also go and get my eyebrows done.
DS2 said on Monday morning they probably wouldn't be coming over but decided to go for it by Monday evening. He's not very good at keeping in touch so am waiting to hear what he's decided regarding testing, it's a bit of a minefield. They will go back earlier than planned as there is a quarantine period on their return.
Beautiful flowers Poppy.
How are you nmlc?
Thinking of the poorlies and those struggling with life.
Take care. XX

Morning all.
Thanks for the thread Scarlet and hugs to all those in need.
Minus 3 outside so I'm reluctant to get out of bed just get had to put the heating on twice yesterday once at 8 am and again at 7 only for an hour each time, any longer and Steve can't cope with heat. He had his hearing aids repaired yesterday but one of them stopped working again within a few hours. He'll need to make another appointment.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs HesterChin up, Titus out.13 -
Morning folks. It's not quite in minus figures here but pretty chilly. I should have had a shower last night. Yesterday I mostly did very little, what I needed to buy I managed to get locally so wasn't out long, as I was feeling rough it was the best move. Today I feel better even though the cold is less congested. I've done a LFT and am negative so feel reassured. The TV schedules are stuffed with very old programmes just now. Saying that I thoroughly enjoyed The Good Life Christmas show.Bella - thinking of you. 🌺
Poppy - great flowers.Camelot - 🤞🤞
Right, I'm off to shower, it'll be really quick. 😀
Happy Wednesday to all.14 -
Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. It feels much colder here this morning and the forecast says it won't improve much all day. No matter as I am not going anywhere! I should have been meeting my best friend for an Italian meal but she is worried about the rapid spread of Covid and asked if I would mind if we cancelled. So hey ho I am grounded.
I met up with my oldest buddy yesterday as planned and it was fairly quiet. I guess a lot of people are playing it safe this Christmas. I had the fish and chips again as they were enjoyed last week and they lived up to promise. Much enjoyed. We just have to wait and see now when our next Tuesday lunch meet up will be as chances of a lockdown after Christmas are looking likely.
So today I will do a bit of cleaning. Such excitement! I'll give the kitchen and bathroom a good bottoming, with a dust 'n vac all round tomorrow. I also want to make some mincemeat cookies at some point and will try not to gobble them all up straight away.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for all in need of them. Thinking of NRA as well as dear DUMPLING's family. Take care one and all and be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"14 -

Hester, sorry one of Steve's hearing aids has stopped working again, I have two myself, and so does DH, and I know how awful it is when you have problems with them. It seems to be a bit of a performance getting them fixed - and Christmas coming up won't help.Hope he doesn't have to wait too long for anothe appointment. It's so difficult for the one who can't hear, and those who live with them (experience speaking from both sides)Camelot, that's not my usual shopping style, usually I'm a wanderer round shops, looking at stuff I know I'm not going to buy, but yesterday I put my "determined" hat on, not me at all really, I surprised myself!TA sorry you're not going out as planned today, glad you enjoyed yesterday though.14

Morning all. Chilly! And very frosty. I was woken up by one of the cats shouting about something, got dressed, went downstairs, nothing happeneing...Ah well, I wanted to get up early anyway. Car bloke has promised definitely definitely that I'll get my car back today. I better had. Also supposed to be going to see a film this afternoon, I'm still happy to go, it's a screen without an awful lot of seats and what seats there are are quite spaced out. We'll see. I have a few last minute things to do, bit of veg, drop off cards, go to Ikea, that sort of thing.....[hair raising eek emoji]Other than that, we're good...Take care of your good selves and chomp a mince pie...Opened your Christmas Baileys yet TA?Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi13

Morning everyone and thanks for the thread Scarlett.
I still have a sore arm but I slept better last night. I popped to the post office for Stepmum yesterday then round to Sainsbugs to collect a jumper I’d ordered – still need to try it on for size. Got a red cabbage and two bags of sprouts plus some pomegranate juice - £1.47 – veg wars have started.
We have frost here too.
Those flowers are lovely poppy 😊
Fingers crossed your car comes back today Taff
Dental check up for me this morning so will take an early lunch break. Not much doing at work but I’m expected to be online in case boss needs anything.
Dinner will be chicken arrabiata stew and parmesan dumplings. I will also make the red cabbage and pop in the slow cooker. Some ironing to do tonight. We have binge watched The Girl Before so might watch a film later.
Thinking of nmlc, NRA and anyone else who is struggling right now.
Have a good day all and stay warm.

Morning all
Brrrr very cold here this morning with a thick frost, will go and defrost the birds water and top up the food after this.
Taking mum for her food shop today and I shall get a few bits, I have ordered a click and collect from Aldi tomorrow so I wont need much today, just things I cant get in Aldi really.
I have a meetiing just after lunch and then im having my chin done this evening so a busy day. Tomorrow I need to start the clean through and I need to make some Turkish delight, we are all making one homemade gift for xmas and we will all pick one out of a box, a bit like a lucky dip and then we can barter or exchange with each other if we fancy their gift, I thought it might be a laugh.
Quick dinner tonight of filled pasta with salad and some garlic bread. I have put a wash on this morning and the dw needs emptying.
Thinking of NRA xx
Have good days all xx12
