New to gas, is my usage within norm?

New house owner here. The house I bought had 25 yrs old highly inefficient oil burner so I converted to gas. I went with IdealLogic C30 for my 3-bed semi.

The house has 300mm of insulation in the attic, all windows and doors double glazed, cavity wall insulation, fireplace blocked, all extractor fan vents replaced with draft stopping ones, all radiator bled and balanced for 10-12C drop. I also got Nest learning thermostat connected using OpenTherm (only last week). I don't think there is much more for me to do. Also got rid of electric shower while converting to gas.

Anyway, in the past 18-19 days I used 105m3 of gas. I spend most of the time at home as I WFH but I sometimes spend a day or two in the office if required.

I was wondering if 5m3 or 6m3 of gas usage per day for a single person living in 3-bed semi described above is considered normal, low, or above average? Thermostat is set to 20C during the day and 17C at night, and 12C when I'm away from home.

I live in N. Ireland so I have no say in who supplies my gas, so the only thing I can do to save is to be efficient with what I have.

We've used 140m3 in the past 30 days - 4 bed detached, both home all day.  20C during the day, 15C at night.  Your figures don't seem outrageous.

Think kWh, not m3.  It's about 1170kWh or 63kWh per day.
Given that the average consumption is 12,000kWh per year (32.8kWh/day) and it's winter, everything seems fine.
  • Alright so everything seems fine then. Thanks. (Not) waiting for my first bill now.
