IHD3 Smart meter

I have recently moved from Peoples Energy to British Gas.
Looking at my account, there is a meter reading for my gas, but not my electricity.
I recall mentioning this to previous suppliers, but none of them were interested in sorting it out.
I have read about solar panels causing issues with smart meters, but surely it's simple enough to read what energy is being used?
What is the likely problem, the new(2017) electric meter, the smart meter or the installation?
Who will sort out issues with smart meters, I guess its my supplier, will they be interested?

A supplier is responsible for any meter assets that come with a consumer that transfers to them. Has your electricity meter been enrolled with and adopted by the DCC? You can check by signing up for a N3rgy.com account. Use the ‘I am a consumer link’ or by downloading the BRIGHT App.
I am not aware of any smart meter issues with PV solar. Both SMETS1 and 2 meters have export indexes.0
