Just been in contact with BG on twitter, as the app says I have no energy with them, tried to give them my meter reads from take over date and today but they rejected them !
So I sent photos of the meters on both dates and they rejected them !
Told me I have to get the wife to phone them as account is in her name.
Question is if we can't get hold of them on the phone (no success so far) how are they going to bill us if they won't accept our readings and if they send us an inaccurate bill do I have to pay it. ?
I have been putting money aside and owed £200+ from pfp

If the supplier says the account is in your wife's name, then you obviosly are (or were) supplied by them. The supplier will only discuss the account with the account holder unless they have the permission of the account holder to discuss it with another named person.
Presumably you have no DDI in place, so BG will take 3 months to bill you.
BG didn't start supplying you a the SoLR for failed PfP untill 11-Sep-2021.
BG will send you an email requesting meter readings when they need them for billing purposes
Be aware that any credit owed to you by PfP may not be credited to the BG account before BG bill you. Timing of that is mainly down to the PfP administrators.

BG definitely my supplier, had letters and emails from them saying so.
I wasn't trying to discuss the account just give them the readings but BG say meter readings don't match what they have from PFP don't know how that is going to change in next 2 weeks when the bill is due.
Cant get through on the phone so can only guess bill is going to be wildly inaccurate, maybe in my favour if PFP are trying to get a few extra pounds out of me at the cheaper rate 😀0 -

Lots of other threads on here discussing that situation, as well as information on the BG website, including how to register your meter readings applicable when BG first supplied you.

They'll only accept meter readings from the account holder, or meter readers, not anyone else. And that is entirely the correct way to do it. I could understand if your wife was dead and you were now in charge of these things, butt as there is no indication this was the case you should have just got your wife to submit them.0 -
We can't have a conversation with BG as lines too busy/not enough staff,
literally sent photos of the meter so can't be inflating figures,
I pay the bill and was named on account at pfp.

"Due to the meter readings we hold they are showing differently to your previous supplier, which is why we need to speak with the account holder"
How can having a conversation (that is almost impossible to have) be better than actual photos ?
Does anyone have an email address for BG I can send the readings to so I can have a digital trail of proof I tried to sort this when it ends up in a complaint ?0 -
