So Energy - issues with account

Hi, I ended up in credit of over £700 in my So Energy account despite still having a Direct Debit of  over £150 a month (long story why this has happened). So I'm trying to get this sorted and they are only offering to reduce DD payments and only refund me half what's in credit. Still leaving over £200 in credit still. Has anyone been in a similar situation and did they get a full refund (minus one payment)? I was wondering whether to cancel DD and then reactivate once done to a month's payment in credit or just switch. Many thanks

Soon be used up with winter approaching.
  • They want a two payment float in the winter months, I think I read somewhere.
  • I’m with so energy and am only £18 in credit I did increase my direct debit slightly but not by much as I don’t want the hassle of getting it back if I go in to debit next month I will make a manual payment to get it on track rarther in my account then theirs at the moment.

I havejust had the same thing as they told me they keep two monthly payments in credit on the account at least in winter…..my year ends jan 1st and i knew this would leave me £300 in credit so i asked for £200 which they refused.  I emailed a formal complaint giving my figures (based onthe previous years consumption) threatening to leave them on the 1st jan and a week later i got my refund 👏👏👏
