Not sure if I’ve messaged in the correct place but I’ve just been a victim of fraud for an item sold on Facebook with counterfeit notes. My biggest concern is that the guy that committed the offence came to the house and the question is whether him coming to the house is a concern for him to possibly attempt robbery etc? Appreciate there really isn’t an answer to that but just wondered if anyone has an opinion on it. I assumed people that commit fraud of that type wouldn’t do anything like that but I guess you never know?

Seems easier to pass on counterfeit notes in exchange for goods than attempt a robbery for what return?

I did think this but I guess concerns start to get raised, so truly hope this is the case. Thanks for your reply.

Close to £600 and it was the post office who notified me that they were counterfeit - they have kept the notes.

A couple of transactions a day, five days a week. That's £300k in a year.  Easy money.

Seems to be quite common nowadays unfortunately, there have been two cases on my local Facebook page just today. One was an envelope of cash which was counted out in front of the seller and the other one threw the notes at the seller and ran. Horrible what people will do to each other but I'm not sure what you can do other than file a police report incase there are similar cases near you.

I wouldn't worry about them coming back, people like that tend not to return to the scene of the crime for fear of identification or repercussions

So you would say it isn’t worth the risk for him to do anything like robbery?

It’s a massive shame that this happens so often.

You’ve made some valid points and has really helped with my current anxiety levels.

I mean when you work it out that way, not really worth the risk - much riskier doing that compared to what he’s currently doing?
