Room in shared house contents Insurance

Hiya,
Have just moved into a shared student house, I am a postgrad, and I'm looking for contents insurance. Can anyone recommend a reasonable provider? I've tried endsleigh but their rates are extortionate and they make me pay extra for my laptop! It works out about £250 in the end and I really only want to pay about £50.
Hope someone can help!

you thought about getting everyone to chip in and get the whole house insured? Either that or an extension to your parents policy may be cheaper.0

I used these for my son - seemed reasonable at the time, no experience (yet) of how they are when you claim though0

They are much cheaper thanks, although they say I can't leave my things in an unlocked room...
Have e-mailed them to check that out as shared houses aren't allowed to have bedroom door locks any more! Fire Safety and all that...
And thanks for the suggestion blacksheep, but my dad doesn't have insurance! I'm just a worrier0
