Dishwasher not draining

Hi,
I am trying to fix our dishwasher as it isn't draining. From looking at videos online it looks like a case of simply clearing out any blockages. The issue I have is that I cannot find a way to remove the cream-coloured plastic bit in the photo below. I have removed all the screws I can see but it is wedged underneath the metal bottom of the dishwasher. I can push it down a bit but it won't move other than that.
Does anyone know how I can remove it to try and clear the blockage?
Thanks,
James.

I think you need to remove the bottom of the dishwasher first, but I am not sure that this is the only way to clear the blockage even if it's really the case.

Pull the d/w out and lay it on its side, you can then get access to the underneath and to the pump and hoses0

If you can get to the bottom, not always easy, you should be able to see the pump. It will be between that bit you're trying to remove (and probably should leave where it is) and the drain hose. Take the pump off and clean it out, checking hoses for any blockages. Does the drain hose go to a standpipe or is it plumbed in to the sink waste? If the latter, check that end for blockages too.
Not draining can be caused by a number of things - a blockage, a jammed pump, a faulty pump or even the programmer not telling it to pump out when it should!Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.0 -
Thanks Alan, will try that in the morning. Was struggling to get the bottom off.Save £6k in 2015 - Jan £5000

As Essex exile said, if the drain hose goes to a connection under the sink, ( not a stand pipe) check that first, ( assuming you haven’t already)0

Does it totally fail to drain or does it drain slowly/incompletely? With the latter I've used a wet vac to suck up the remaining water and possibly draw out some of the blockage, I've then run a cleaning programme with a dishwasher cleaning product from Aldi (alternatives available!), this seems to make the problem go away for me, and would be worth trying before stripping down the dishwasher.0

Thanks for all the replies.
I located the connection under the sink, blower down the tube and it is blocked.
Does this help to diagnose the problem?

I am no expert, but there can be a drain valve that closes the line.0
