Mortage Broker error

Hi,
I recently employed a Mortage broker who successfully got me a Mortage in principle. I put a offer down on a house and it was accepted. My broker asked for his fee which I paid and the Mortage provider asked for their valuation fee (which is refundable upon completion) I paid this also.

My broker is now advising that our Mortage offer may be rejected because I started a new job 7 months ago with a 2 month break between my last employment. This in turn does not meet the lenders T&Cs as they require 12 month’s employment with no break.
My broker has said not to worry and they are appealing this decision. I want to know if anyone thinks the appeal will be successful and also if not will I lose my valuation fee? Should the broker of informed me of the T&C or is this something I should of looked into myself ?

Who is the lender?
The broker will need to put their hand in their pocket and cover your valuation fee if your application is declined. Our factfind asks for 12 months employment history. It is the brokers job to ensure you fit criteria, if you do not then they have made a mistake.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Ok thanks for this. Our lender is precise. We had to complete the brokers fact finder form which asked about previous employment but only asked for start date and not end date.0
