Ruined holiday

Could anyone please give me some advice on how to complain , I have already complained to the travel company .
They have completely fobbed me off in relation to the bad food
rudeness from lots of other guests all reported to hotel relations . The assault on my daughter and my sons grandad . We reported this at the time . The hotel did not want us to press charges . We returned the morning after , reception gave the incorrect information, to the holiday rep . We again insisted the authorities  were called , nothing happened. All I have had from the holiday company is , it’s a civil matter .. fobbed off

can anyone help me for my awful holiday , how to complain again please

    Hi jayjay

The best thing to do next is to go to ABTA if your Tour Operator is a member of ABTA (most are) - more info on their website under help-and-complaints/customer-support

They will need to see proof that you have taken it as far as you can direct with the Tour Operator - if you check the FAQ's there is more info

    Good Luck

    I am a Travel Agent

My company’s ABTA/ATOL numbers are G9172/6053. MSE doesn't check my status as a Travel Agent, so you need to take my word for it. You can check my ATOL with the CAA. This signature is here as I follow MSE's Travel Agent Code of Conduct.

You weren't recently at the TUI SUNEO Tamaimo Tropical in Tenerife by chance?
  • What was stopping you calling the police yourself?

OK, how do foreign nationals manage in this country when they ring 999?

With difficulty, though I'd argue the UK is particularly bad with language skills.

I understand in the UK 999 have access to interpreters but thats dependant on the operator identifying the language being spoken and I am sure some are harder to get quickly than others.

However, given this would have been a non-emergency by this point the local police should be called and I suspect they arent as practiced with dealing with someone without any language ability.
  • I would assume in a tourist area the operator, and even the local Plod, would be able to establish it was English being spoken, probably one of easiest languages to pick out given its presence in world media and entertainment.

Agreed, and only speculating that the reason for not calling themselves was concern over language barrier so probably dont want to go too far down the rabbit hole before the OP clarifies the real reason
  • It would be useful to know in which country/resort these incidents occurred.

    What country were you in?

What was wrong with the food?

Rudeness from other guests is hardly the holiday company's responsibility, nor the hotel's.

Who assaulted your daughter and your son's grandad?
if you agreed not to press charges why do you think the holiday company has any  responsibility?
