I've just signed up to the Gretel service mentioned in the article and it automatically pulled all of my previous addresses. However, it hasn't found anything yet, so fingers crossed it starts to find things over the months....2

Good luck @scottaii - please let us know if there's an update.0

No success. I registered with my lost account but still waiting 2 months later for NSandI to get back to me with details of my lost childhood Post Office Counters savings account.0

Has anyone had recent success with tracing a pension recently? I'd love to hear details.0

This is the main reason I have just signed up to Gretel - if I have any success I'll feed back.1

As an executor of an estate I hoped that these two would help me locate any banks/BS accounts I might have missed prior to closing the estate.
Unfortuntely, My Lost Account required that I tell them the banks to search, (even asking for account numbers and when last used etc), which had I known I would have contacted them directly anyway so it was pointless.
Gretel required that the account holder carry out the search, with id verification, so again useless for an executor.1 -
I have just used the NS&I free service to trace my late mother's premium bonds - very speedy service. This also checked whether there were any unclaimed prizes - sadly no! Have looked at Gretel as I would like to check if she had any savings/shares that I didn't know about. However Gretel appears to only let you do this for yourself, and not as an executor so I will have to find another way
