Mother

I don't understand your problem - you state very clearly that you'd given the items in question to your mother; either you'd given them, or you hadn't. If, on the contrary, you'd merely passed them to her for sale on your behalf, then I suggest you sit down with her and go through the sold items one by one, tot their proceeds up and deduct her fuel and other costs, but not her time as that's irrelevant. What's left is yours, not hers, and your mother should pay you that amount. Best of luck.
