Hi.
I have been put in a support group this week. I have been getting assessment payments since March 2020.
Would my payments get backdated to the 14th week of my claim? And would the pay out the difference only ?

The extra money is paid from the 14th week of your claim so you would be paid the difference from this time. It must be New Style ESA that you're claim which should have ended after 1 year. This means you'll also be owed the full amount from the date your ESA ended.

I wonder if the poster is also getting Universal Credit? Otherwise I can't understand how the payments have continued when ESA should have ceased 6 months ago. Or at least, based on what is written, it reads as though payments have continued.

It did not end after a year,my work capability assessment only happened in june21, decision was made in July 21 to put me in to a support group.I rang UC and they have referred the case to decision maker for some reason, apparently they have read the assessment report and decide if I need to be in the support group( even tho recommendations are to put me in a support group)
And when I rang ESA they said that they are waiting on the decision from UC so they can mirror the decision. It’s all very confusing to me.0 -
Initially I was on UC but then due to circumstances I had to apply for new style esa. But UC continued in the back ground and I was getting esa every two weeks. It was esa officer who told me that I can claim esa alongside universal credit.0
