I tried to pay online for train tickets for a local train in Germany using my Barclaycard (on bahn.de, the webpage of their official train operator). A message appeared telling me that a text with a 6 digit code has been sent to my card. However, it never arrived. I've asked to resend the code, but it didn't show up either. Next day, the same problem. I can make phone calls and text messages from other financial institutions arrive fine. I've contacted Barclaycard and they say that text messages have been sent - they can see that on the system. The phone number they have for me is correct - the operator confirmed.
I am at my wits end, any thoughts?

Assuming you're currently in Germany its most likely a glitch between your (UK) network and the local one they have connected you to. I'd be asking your (UK) network.0

I am currently in the UK in the town where I normally live.

Roaming texts are usually fairly robust. I've received (and sent) them even where the other person is using a non-UK phone and they are roaming themselves (i.e. four networks in four separate countries).
Do you get them okay in the UK?0 -
There is no roaming involved. I am in the UK. I presume Barclays is also sending sms from the UK. I get texts messages from other financial institutions as usual.0

Who is your UK mobile network? It could be that they're have issues receiving short code SMS messages (5 digit numbers) and I know some (eg Plusnet) won't allow you to respond to short code SMS numbers but receiving messages from such numbers shouldn't be a problem. I suggest getting in touch with your mobile operator and also posting on their community forum (if they have one) and asking if others are also having the same issue.0

It is 3 (Three) mobile. Thanks - I will see what they say.

Another test you can do: try to login into your Barclaycard account on a PC, and if it asks for additional authentication upon entering your login details, give your mobile number to receive the login code. You might need to change your IP address for this to work though, eg use a mobile hotspot.0
