Vodaphone fibre broadband is no longer available at my new home

Yeah that's the interim plan. Going to pickup a 5G router and see what speeds I get from the different providers and return if needed. 4G Shouldn't be an issue, and likely enough in terms of bandwidth.

Just on that note. What are the differences (if any) in subscribing to a 5G Broadband contract or simply paying for a Sim only 5G data plan and using it in a 5G router you've bought yourself. It does seem to be cheaper doing the latter?0

4G shouldn’t have been an issue in my area but it was. You really must give the mobile router an extensive test before committing to a lengthy contract.
When I used my daughters 4G mobile router at my house it appeared to be the perfect solution for the first few days (it was probably over a week-end) but after the initial period of stability it went rapidly downhill and became useless and totally unreliable.
In my experience the ‘network signal coverage’ maps should be viewed as nothing more than a tenuous ‘indication’ of what you’ll actually get.
p.s. 5G isn’t available in my location,...or my daughters location. Perhaps?? 5G solves all the problems.

I do the latter, in an unlocked router and agree, it's cheaper than an inclusive contract, but I suppose like phone contracts, a contract can avoid an upfront router costneilmcl said:Just on that note. I didn't factor in the such high cost of the 5g router but I suppose if you already have one then sim only deals make senseflashg67 said:

@Travel1819 Coventry city centre looks to have 5G coverage for the ‘3’ network.
’3’ are advertising 4G router (unlimited data & no upfront costs) @ £22 to £30 per month depending on contract length, which seems fairly reasonable,...assuming it works that is! 5G plans are also available.
However, they do say this: “Try it. Not for you? Send it back.”....not sure exactly how long the “Try it” period lasts for though. There doesn’t appear to be any more details,...it’s very vague and certainly needs clarification before making any sort of purchase.
Whether you go for the full package or ‘sim only’ will obviously depend on personal circumstance.
‘3’ prices look more competitive than ‘EE’,...however, (purely on personal experience) if you require decent customer service ‘3’ leaves a lot to be desired.

My daughter currently pays £20/month (unlimited data) for her ‘3’ 4G router,...she’s had it almost three years.
