"Free" boiler - what due diligence?

My other half has just informed me someone is coming to discuss a free combi boiler.
My first concern is the company has only been in existance for around 6 months (companies house).
They stipulate that a comprehensive home care pakage is taken out. What stops them setting this at whatever cost they see fit in future years. The company ints-self funds the boiler (no govt funding).

Run a mile or hear them out?

I'd be worried - nothing is every free.

I'd listen to what they have to say, get all the bits in writing and then get a quote for a non conditional boiler from someone else.  I think I know which will be cheaper but I'll be happy to be proved wrong.

Do not sign up on the day, no matter how much pressure is applied.  If the offer is only good for the day of the visit, it's no good at all.

It sounds like they effectively want to sell you the boiler on credit, with the payments being the service plan.  But it wouldn't be a regulated credit agreement with all the consumer rights that go with that.

I wouldn't sign up without reading every word of the agreement, and working out whether it's any cheaper than buying a new boiler on credit.
    If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.

I wouldn't let anyone through the door unless I have done my homework first. If your OH agreed to a call as a result of unsolicited promotion then put a stop to it now and feel no guilt.

I am hoping to get a free boiler on the Government Scheme as mine is on its last legs and my son is profoundly disabled. I have found a company that says they are “government backed’, but how can I check this please. The company is www.thefreeboilerscheme.co.uk and the installer they use is ZOA energy
    thank you
