Where can I find an impartial damp specialist?

Hi popping back to update. As predicted the ‘surveyor’ from the local highly regarded damp preservation company has been and after all of 10/15 mins in my house, has written a report (as predicted) advising I need to strip the paster off the walls (up to 1.2/1.4) metres in my hall and some of the adjoining walls and pump in some kind of foam. Not only did the surveyor fail to diagnose what the actual problem is, there were so many caveats in the T&Cs that any guarantee is rendered useless before it’s even signed.Lesson learnt thanks to the timely advice on here and thankfully a loss of £60 rather than near £5,000 they were claiming it would cost 🤣🤣 - a very near miss.
I have now instructed a local independent surveyor familiar with the area and its inherent flood/ water table issues who will source the root of the problem. Once again thank you!3
