in Credit cards
Hello all, wonder if anyone knows or has experienced any situation like this.
My wife and I have credit cards with the same company. We have been paying the minimum each month and now considered in persistent debt.
My wife has received confirmation that the interest rate has been halved so she can pay the balance off quicker.
However me in the same situation they have declined to reduce my rate.
Not sure how this is treating customers fairly by the exact same company.
strange one, any help or comments would be greatly appreciated 🙏.
Thanks

Treating customers fairly doesn't mean treating everyone identical otherwise you'd still have the card and be allowed to run up your debts further because thats how most of their customer's accounts are going. There is some difference between you in their eyes such that she qualifies for more support... maybe her balance is a greater proportion of her salary than yours, she's had more missed/late payments than you etc etc.
I'm sure however they'll happily reinstate the full interest if she agrees with you that its unfair.2
