Current passport waiting time?

Has anyone renewed a passport online recently and if so how long did it take?

Current official waiting time is 10 weeks , less if online renewal

In the past when they have said several weeks, I've had a passport back in around a week. I'm guessing it may be different now.

I need a child's passport for 23/7. It ran out Mar 21. I see a trip to the pp office in my future. Do you need to take a child aged 6 with you? I tried calling pp office. After holding for a good while they took my number to call me back and so far haven't.

The 10 week waiting time is to manage customer expectations in case of a surge in applications. Straightforward renewal applications are taking about a week just now

You can book the fast track service online.it   It’s a guaranteed 7day service.   The child does not have to attend with you. Just make sure the photos are up to standard.  Look at the guidelines online

I renewed Passports for a couple of eldery relatives about a month ago, and had to send  the old ones off to different Passport Offices,

Posted them on a Saturday morning and both were back by the following Friday.

Do not use the PO check and send service ,al they do is look at the form to see if it is filled in and post it off ,but charge you a lot extra for something you can do yourself ( sorry cannot remember what they charge but someone will and post it on here )

Did ours online a couple of months ago. Both arrived within a week.

I was told 10 weeks online but we received all 3 of ours within 2 weeks

We have both just done ours online and i would say it took around 3-4 weeks to process .
