recommnended bank account with savings pots?

I currently have a monzo account, but hearing of more and more people having thier accounts closed.... is starling any better? Or are there any big banks that allow you to have the savings pots like monzo?
Many thanks

There is no good or band bank for closing accounts, they all do it and Starling are certainly no exception.

If you follow your Terms & Conditions and particularly don't get involved with any dodgy payees or use your account for business purposes, you shouldn't have anything to worry about.

Monzo have particularly targeted younger markets and victims of 'account borrowing' or 'muling' are more likely to be from that same demographic. You might read in to that as causation or merely correlation.

If you're happy with Monzo, stay there but always make sure you have another option available should they decide to close your account (which they are entitled to do, with notice, without reason), or something else happens which might lead to you not having access to your money at an inopportune moment.

All you need to do is use an app like MMEX, other apps are available, add your current account(s), and then set up accounts for savings. Transfer money you wish to save into these 'dummy' accounts but don't mark the transactions as reconciled. In this way your own balance will show what money you have available LESS the money in the savings accounts, and the reconciled balance will be the same as the one the bank shows. If you need to use funds from your savings accounts, you transfer what you need back to your current account, again not marking it as reconciled, and spend away. I've been doing this for years and it works perfectly.

Virgin money have a current account with linked savings account, the latter allows pots to be created.
Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear it in 2026.
