P11D Co2 emissions on vehicle possibly wrong?

Good morning,
I recently recieved a P11D in relation a company car I have. The emissions were stated as 120GSM. I had a look at the government website for the vehicle I have, which states the emissions are 109GSM.
The leasing company are adament the vehicle is 120GSM, but the government website says otherwise... So, I'm not sure how I would find out for sure.
I've contacted the vehicle manufacturer direct and they said they'd need to do an emissions check on the vehicle.
I've had the car nearly 3 years so just want to make sure I've not been paying too much tax.
How would I go about disputing this with HMRC? Or is it really not worth it?
Many thanks,

If you put your registration number in here what CO2 emissions does it give for your car for VED purposes?

That's what I go by when calculating P11D figures for employees.1 -

That's what I go by when calculating P11D figures for employees.Thanks Nick, interestingly when I use that link the GKM is as the lease company is saying (120).Strange, how I get a different value when I imput the details myself through (g o v . u k / c o 2 - a n d - v e h i c l e - t a x - t o o l s) -can't post links.I guess what they are saying must be right then?Thanks,

Irrespective of what the correct CO2 figure is this isn't something you dispute with HMRC.
You are taxed on the benefits reporter by your employer on the P11D so if the P11D is wrong the only way to alter things would be for your employer to file amended P11D's.
HMRC will simply refer you to your employer otherwise everyone could reduce their BIK values.2 -
I would go by whats shown on the VED site above any others. Although its not totally impossible that the figure shown for VED purposes is wrong it would be very rare I think.
Bear in mind that certain factory options can affect the CO2 emissions, and also manufacturers do sometimes tweak the spec slightly from one model year to another to get the emissions figure down. It may be that your car was an earlier spec and had sat for a while before being registered, or perhaps has optional larger wheels than standard?1 -
Thanks all. I managed to get through to someone within customer services at the vehicle manufacturer. They looked in to the emissions from factory build and confirm it was 120 which is the same as using the vehicle tax enquiry site above. So, I can sleep a bit better. It is odd that I get a different value when I use the online vehicle tax tool site, as it has more specific matching details about the model of car I have.... but can't really argue with the manufacturer... Must be a mistake on the go vehicle tax tool site I suppose.Thank you again.1
