Stamp duty on solar/wind/environmental funds?

Hi all,
I've recently been buying some renewables funds and wondered why there is no stamp duty on solar funds (e.g, BSIF, NESF, FSFL) but there is on wind funds (e.g, UKW), and some mixed assets environmental funds such as JLEN are also exempt from stamp duty despite containing wind assets which would attract stamp duty by themselves.
Any clue on the regulations here?
Thanks

They all came to market via the London Stock Exchange "High Growth Segment".  Shares in this sector are exempt from stamp duty.
  • I am not sure that's right, BSIF, NESF, FSFL are all based in either Jersey or Guernsey where stamp duty does not apply. But UKW is based in the UK, hence you pay stamp duty. JLEN is also based in Guernsey for the same reason. Check out the domiciled location of a stock to see if you will be paying stamp duty, the exception is off course UK AIM stock who also don't pay stamp duty.
