Moto G8 Plus Notification Problem

The problem is really notifications from my Smartwatch (Amazfit GTS) and the Zepp app that stopped working a few weeks ago.
Trying to sort it out has affected all my notifications but everything else seems to be working ok even though the smartwatch is not showing in Bluetooth as a connected device.
I can't understand how the watch is connecting to the app if it's not connecting by Bluetooth.
Is there an easier way of sorting this out than doing a factory reset of the phone?
