Claiming a deferred pension for the estate of a deceased person

I am currently in the process of sorting out a deceased persons estate and the person who died was 71 years old. He had not claimed his state pension so I am led to believe that his beneficiary is entitled to some of the money. Is it 3 months worth and how do you go about claiming it. Rang Dwp but on hold and then put through to wrong department. Thank you
