Tax credits overpayment

Hi there
I have a tax credit over payment - this is my fault and is totally correct. It is for £6500. They have reduced our tax credits by 50%, but that comes out to only half of £850 a year being paid towards the over payment. Is it possible for me to request they reduce our tax credits to nothing and keep the whole amount to go towards the over payment? Otherwise this won't be paid off for a very long time. Apologies for asking - I just hate phoning, so want to know if anyone knows if this is a possibility before phoning.
Thank you for reading.

Yes, of course you can ask them, you just need to ring them.
