i have been put in the support group on new style ESA. so gone up from 74 to 114 per week.
i claimed UC last month so I know i will get my rent paid plus the 20 uplift.
however i read that under UC there is an 'additonal element' that you get £343 per month UC if you get put in the support group.
so does that mean that UC will pay me the 343 addiitonal element and then take off the 114 per week ESA ?
thank you

Yes, you will be entitled to the LCWRA, which is same as ESA Support Group. The £20 uplift is due to end in October, unless the Government decide to incress it further. Your ESA will be deducted in full from any UC entitlement, which will be £494 per month.

You will not get the extra £343 in UC straightaway unless the start date for you being in the ESA Support Group is earlier than the date you claimed UC. If it isn't you will only get the extra money in UC in your fourth UC payment (assuming that you did report your health condition as part of your UC claim).
When did you claim UC?
What date have ESA said they are putting you in the Support Group from?Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.1 -

(taking off the ESA of 494 after that of course)

Yes, that's correct. From October the standard element will reduce by £86 per month.
