Changing bank details

Hi, big mix up. I applied for a switch of banks count last week which was accepted , my DLA payment is due this coming Tuesday so yesterday I called to change bank account details. Then this morning Halifax call and say my application wasn't accepted so account won't be open! So had to ring DLA again this morning to change my bank details back. However she stated my payment was issued yesterday but should be fine for Tuesday. This payment will have been issued to the account that Halifax has declined, she said as my payment is Tuesday and not tomorrow it should rectify but then it will be returned to them within 10 days if it goes to the closed account. Anybody know if it will change in time and can they change account once issued. And if not how can I receive my payment I'm panicking. Tia

Did you ask the DLA telephony agent which bank account your payment for Tuesday had been issued to?

Yes it's been issued to new one which has now closed.

A payment issued to an effectively non-existent account will bounce back but it takes time.

I know it bounces back my question is, it's been issued, however I've changed account she said it may change in time. Anyone any experience of this and know if it can be changed once issued.

If payment has been issued and you had already changed your bank details before the payment was issued then it will go to new account, so will bounce back. It won't change bank accounts once it's been issued because it's already gone.
  • It won’t change in time because the payment has already been issued to the new bank account. That’s that.

DWP will do nothing until the original payment is either rejected by the bank or returned by the bank.  Once that happens a new payment can be issued using the 'new' bank details provided by the customer.  As long as DWP now has a valid account to pay into, future payments will go to that account.

  • Can anyone tell me how to get to speak to Ticketmaster to change my bank details, as my refund is due but I paid for the tickets on a credit card which I no longer have
