Hi, I've been with edf for a few months now and they're only taking my payment for the electricity, they're not taking the payment for the gas even though it was all set up at the same time, am I able to say its there mistake I'm now not prepared to pay that bill
Thanks Tony

  • As Judge Judy would say on her show "you ate the steak" so why do you think you can avoid paying ?

Get the account soted out and use that money you have set aside to pay your gas bill.

It seems very strange that you do not have a dual fuel account if both are with the same company.

You've used the gas, you should pay for it.
Phone them up, tell them and get it sorted.  Unless you want a whopping great bill when they finally notice such as if you move away to another provider...

Who did you switch from ?? You will probably find that your previous gas supplier still thinks they are supplying and will want paying soon !!

Have you confirmed that EDF is actually your supplier for your gas?

There is a back billing rule, from OFGEM, that a supplier isn't allowed to bill you for anything older than a year, but only if it's their fault that you weren't correctly billed.  That's a lot more generous than the Limitation Act, which allows 6 years.

So if you do get a bill after a few months, don't whinge, and pay it.  You owe the money.

And, as others have said, check who is really your gas supplier.  Don't assume it's EDF.
    If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.
