Credit card limit reduced

in Credit cards
I have had a credit card for at least 10 years. I have always paid off more than the minimum and over the years my credit limit was increased to almost £14000. I've never reached more than £3000 and currently down to £1300. I've just been sent a letter saying my limit is being reduced to 1700 unless I send in bank statements, wage slips etc. I would never have used a ridiculous limit like 14000 but 1700 is a large reduction. I am quite annoyed as nothing has changed financially but I'm not prepared to send in lots of info.

If you're not prepared to send off the info requested then I guess you'll just have to accept limit reduction then.Time is a path from the past to the future and back again. The present is the crossroads of both. :cool:1

Yup. You simply need to decide if getting the limit increased to the number you want is worth all the info they have asked for.
Me, I've decided I have better things to do with my time.1 -
Just switch to a 0% credit card company and kick Barclays up the !!!!!! and return the card to them and use a balance transfer if you cannot pay the card off in full, simples.
