Best 'safe' plug bug killer ?

Anyone got any recommendations about the best plugin mosquito/bug killer. A lot of them have pesticide in like DEET which I presume isn't the healthiest to be breathing in ?

I bought one of those electric zappers but its not the best

Thanks

The UV zappers are good for some flies and moths, but not others.  Worth trying as a first line.

"Bug zappers kill bugs by the thousands. But there’s a problem: They kill the wrong bugs. They are ineffective against mosquitoes and other biting flies, and their otherwise indiscriminate killing can reduce songbird populations, disrupt pollination, and generally throw the environment out of balance"

Thanks for that. So if Zappers are no good for mosquitoes then which plug in in best ?

..and I'm not destroying the worlds environment , I'm only avoiding being bitten in the bedroom and lounge here in the UK not outside..

    Tackle the original problem?
Where are they coming from? Still water or boggy areas are their preferance. Do you have anything like that or your neighbours?
I used to have a problem where a neighbour had a large pond with no movement. Here I was collecting water in a bin as I was on a meter and learned to put a lid on it.

Are you sure they are mozzies?  I've only ever had one true mosquito in the house -- very noticeable due to the loud 'hum' it made.  Most are probably gnats or whatever.
