Faulty product returned, Company pretending all parts have not been returned..not issuing refund

Help. I returned a faulty epilepsy alarm to a Company asking for a refund. I rang the company and they happily said will issue me the refund. I returned the product within the allowed time frame. The company confirmed they had received the return and monies would be returned to me once they had opened the box. They had to leave the box untouched for 3 days because of covid. Now over 14days later after I emailed and called asking where my refund is, they said a part of the product that should be in the box is not. I told them it was ludicrous, all parts where in the box that I posted back to them. They still have not issued my refund. Where do i go from here?

If you paid by credit card, contact them
If you paid by debit card, depending on how long you have had it, they may be able to do a chargeback.
Do the Company concerned have a complaints procedure - if so, follow it.
Otherwise, depending on what you paid, issue a moneyclaims online.1
