Estate agents not communicating !

Our agents and my vendors agents seem to have some history, appears a family connection (cousins) and just arnt communicating !!

My agents ask me for updates on my onward purchase and I'm having to chase the vendors agents when itd be so much easier to talk to each other !

Is this normal ?
Vendors agents claim my agents havent been calling and my agents say they've left messages and dont get calls back.
I feel like I'm in middle of their personal issues and this is stressing me out more than needed as they dont want to talk to each other.
Is it even worth complaining and slowing them down even more ?!
Bit of a rant, sorry.. just want to check I'm not being unreasonable
Thanks

Why are you talking to the estate agents ?
Have  you found a property to buy or are you selling as well ?
You should now be talking to your solicitor
The estate agents do not know information about the property you are buying.
You need your solicitor to write to the vendors solicitor to get answers to many of the questions you might have ?
You can do some research yourself.
Council tax, maybe contact the Land registry online to find out information about the property your looking to buy.
Read the property brochure ! EPC rating ? Floorplan ? Size of rooms ? Street view ?

Sorry yes we are in a chain and things are progressing.
My agents keep me in the loop weekly with updates on my sellers and where he is in the process. For examples his searches and enquiries are back. And he also asks where we are with our purchase and do we know where our vendor is with hers etc.
    Is this not normal?

Yes of course it is normal for your agent to progress both your sale and purchase, this is what a decent agent does to make sure it all proceeds smoothly.
Legal aspects are handled by the Solicitor but it is not their job to progress and hold your hand so not sure what this other guy is on about....
