Council Parking Ticket

I am a teacher and during lockdown the school was open to vulnerable and key workers’ children. I was on the rota to work and I parked in the car park at the front of the school as the school and college beside school was closed and deserted due to lockdown. Teachers, in normal circumstances, park in a big car park at the back of the school and it’s quite a walk to the school, especially when carrying bags and books etc. There are at least ten disabled parking bays at front of school and I parked in one and received a parking ticket. I genuinely thought because we were in lockdown, school and college closed, it was okay to park anywhere. I appealed my ticket but was denied so I have to pay £60. I feel this is unfair as car park was deserted due to lockdown and in normal circumstances I would never, ever dream of denying a disabled or older person their parking space, anywhere, even if it was the last space available. Advice please and your thoughts but please be kind as I did genuinely make a mistake and the disabled bays were not being used due to lockdown. Thank you.

The clue is in the title of your thread.  Here we deal with private parking issues.  You have said "Council" and therefore your best bet is to go to a web site called Pepipoo as they major on council tickets.
