O/S Daily Monday 29 March 2021
This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Morning everyone
Gers - thinking of you and your mum x
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Now getting light but still blustery - but not cold.
DH and DS1 getting ready for work, I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and my porridge whilst on here. DS2 settled and happy.
Yesterday lunch was roast pork, lovely it was too, some LO's. Tonight we'll be having either chicken or fish - will decide later.
Keep safe and well x

Good morning, and thanks for starting NMLC.Gers, I'm sorry to read that your Mum has had a bad weekend, thinking of you both.I've had a bad night, so will be relying on strong coffee to keep me going today, I just could not sleep. Not a lot going on today, just the usual stuff.Hope everyone has a good day anyway, take care folks.15

Morning all looks a little grey but its supposed to warm up later will have a swish round the house is still nice and clean thanks to no-one being here all weekend
Gers I am thinking of you and mum
Scarlet sundays are always a bit bleugh especially right now but hopefully you have a better sleep tonight
I have 4 bags for charity so will drop them today and order a skip for the big house for Saturday
Have a great Monday if you are meeting up with loved ones enjoy and make the most of every moment xxxSlava Ukraini15 -
Morning folks and thanks NMLC. It's forecast to be a nice day today but you wouldn't think so at the moment. Dark, gloomy and still the stiff breeze blowing. I'm another who had a rubbish night's sleep, tossing and turning and clock watching so it will be copious cups of coffee for me too SCARLET.
If it does live up to forecast I shall do some pottering out back. The past it's best seat needs dismantling before the new one is delivered, then I shall be awaiting an offer of taking all the pieces to the tip! A no cooking day as plenty of chicken and veg left to warm up from yesterday.
Thinking of GERS and DM. It's so hard watching a loved one decline, and the helplessness you feel.. ((HUGS)) to all else in need. Take care one and all x

Morning all. Grey but probably sunny or something after, have deposited OH at work and drinking second cup of wake up juice, the cats have had their breakfast and I have to think of something to eat for mine.Maybe porridge. I totted up what we'd spent on food last month or this month being as it's not quite April and I was horrified. So there are not going to be any splurges in April if I can help it. I went through the finances and have hopefully got things back to where they should be, opened a savings account and I've just thought I might as well open one of those round up the pennies ones. I got myself a wedge pillow which will hopefully be turning up tomorrow to help with the sleeping as both shoulders appear to be in the not working properly club now. And I am cooking a chicken after for tonight but no idea how yet, will trawl through some recipes this afternoon. After I've had a nap on the sofa.Sorry to hear your mum isn't great Gers. Hope you're all continuing to continue, stay poised like a cobra to strike...Or, you know, just enjoy your day as best you canNon me fac calcitrare tuum culi15

Morning all
Thanks for the thread nmlc and hugs to all those in need especially Gers and her mum.
We're promised warmer weather for a few days let's hope it arrives.
Have a good day everyone.

Morning folks.A huge thanks for a the good wishes from everyone. In down moments they are really helping me. After a sleepless night Saturday to Sunday I managed a few hours last night. DM was so bad on Saturday that I really thought she was going, she was fighting for every breath. Yesterday she was a little better and was breathing a little easier so wasn't so exhausted by the effort. She's very calm and pragmatic about her death and began giving me suggestions about who she'd like some of her paintings to go to. A little laughter helped eased the tension. I'm like a wrung out dishcloth just now.I spent a good few hours sorting out the Easter cards. I wrote a little note to explain the image on the card and why they weren't personally signed. Having the address labels all ready helped so there's a pile now waiting to be put in the postbox. No plans for today, the weather is atrocious, wild winds and driving rain.Once again, thanks folks. Happy Monday to all, hope that all those in England enjoy their new freedoms.15

Morning
Still got poorly paws here so sorry for my absence. Came in to give Gers a huge hug. Tough times ahead lovely but you have gone above and beyond with her care. I hope the GP can make sure she is comfortable and able to breathe easier. Take care lovely
Hugs to you all and hopefully with a better forecast for weather I'll be able to post again x14 -
Good morning and thank you for starting the thread nmlc.
Gers, thinking of you and your DM. It was good to read that, despite all, you and your mum can still laugh together.
Not much happening here.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back13 -
Morning everyone.
Gers, your DM is so right to refuse hospital. It is no place to end your days. So glad that you can both still laugh, these are precious times.
Not many plans for today. It is bright and sunny out there, but I have an appointment with reams of old paperwork destined for the recycling lorry tomorrow.I believe that friends are quiet angels

Have trouble remembering how to fly.14
