Reclaim tax for professional membership fees - how to update how much I am claiming for?

I reclaim tax for my professional membership organisation fees for work. My professional body has revised their fees several times. Seems from when I 1st claimed for membership fees the same value for tax deduction has been automatically applied to me in subsequent years.
A couple of years ago I didn't realise my professional body had revised fees downwards so that I only paid half what I had paid before - a year later I realised and called the tax office to update them, after sitting in the phone queue for ages. I am still waiting to hear if they will want to claim money back off me.
This year the professional body are revising membership fees again - almost doubling the charges, so I'll be back to almost where I was about 3/4 years ago.
What is the best way to inform the tax office? Will doing a new claim online or with paper claim cause confusion and make them think I am claiming twice for the professional membership fees? Am I better off calling the tax office and waiting in a long queue to talk to someone to inform them that way?

You just need to advise them that for 2021:22 the membership fees will be £x rather than £y (whatever is in your 2021:22 tax code).
